Best invention
I don't know why I never thought to look for something like this before. This is perfect. I now want one to keep in my car. I have pulled into many parking lots that are solid sheets of ice in the winter. This would have been a lifesaver. It closes off well so there would be no spillage if kept in the car. I will probably get one for my mother who could benefit for the same reasons.

So simple, so easy!
This is great for small patches of lawn that need re-seeding. Love it! Would be good for putting down granular fertilizer around shrubs, plants and trees too.

I can't believe I waited this long to buy something like this!
This works great for spreading salt onto driveways and sidewalks. It has adjustable holes for other uses as well. I also want to add that this will not work for really coarse salts as the holes will be too small. This works for smaller driveways.

Great inexpensive alternative to a fancy mechanical spreader.
Works great if you have a small area you want to distribute grass or fertilizer. Carry handle makes it easy. I've never like those fancy mechanical spreaders, they take up so much room and always get plugged up. Great little alternative!

Made well and disperses fertilizer and salt efficiently!
Bought this to spread lawn fertilizer which worked out well. Also used it to disperse salt on my hundred foot driveway after the last big snowstorm and it was SO HELPFUL! Wish I'd had this years ago!

Maybe I wasn't using it properly?
Don't shake it too hard or the lid will fly off if the salt has gotten caked up. I will admit I don't actually know what I'm doing when it's icy out. I hate cold weather.

Quick and easy way to spread granules
I used this spreader to apply Preen to my garden beds. The job has never been so easy and fast. If you can’t use a broadcast spreader for granules, this is the way to go.

Perfect
I gave up trying to use the wheeled spreaders for lawn treatment granules as I was struggling to find one that spread evenly! This is great, easy to use and the adjustable hole cap means it's easy to control. Very pleased with it. I have a large lawn but still found it preferable using this.

God for spreading feed / feed & mosskiller.
Much less hassle than using a wheeled spreader - gives a much more even distribution in my opinion.

As described. You'll have to fiddle around with the lid setting to see what suits best for scattering, but it works about as well as one would expect. Then find out which method is best for you. Walking backwards - sweeping to the side - whatever.
