Armour Etch10-0101 93 Piece Deluxe Glass Etching Kit, Multicolor

I got this since I had done this long time ago and with the instructions it was really easy to relearn how to do this. It was a lot of fun and pretty easy to do. It's great for crafts and does not take a long time to do. Highly recommended!update 10/22/2013 I was rereading reviews and thought wow I was a bit vague. Okay I'm sure if I was reading this I would like to know how easy and why is it so great. Okay so I read the directions cut out my pattern used paper tape and secured it to my glass then I applied the stuff and waited and washed off and perfect (just like the pictures which sometimes the pictures can seem misleading on how easy things really are. not in this case what you see is what you get!) Okay so you can buy $1 glass items at the dollar tree take either the patterns from the kit or if you have a cricket and get special sticker type paper create your pattern cut it out on the cricket and use that pattern you can take a dull cheap $1 dollar glass item and turn it into a beautiful masterpiece that looks professional makes for wonderful gifts or just something special to decorate around the house. hardest part can be securing the pattern but overall it is relatively easy to do and it never stops amazing me when you remove the pattern and you can see the beautiful etched glass. I bought my husband a bottle cutter for Christmas and he expressed an interest in doing glass etching on the glasses he's been making with the bottle cutter. After researching the different types of etching (cream/chemical versus sandblasting, etc) he decided on cream. This kit had great reviews and seemed to be a good place to start, so I bought it for him for Valentine's Day. It comes with all you need to get started: the cream itself, a pair of gloves, stencils- all kinds of stuff (see pics for what all is included.) I decided to test it out using one my old mason jars, just to see how difficult of a process it would be. I followed the instructions included in the kit, and it was SO simple to use. No mess, no hard to understand directions, no tears of frustration. It worked perfectly! I only wish that the stencils were reusable, but we plan on making our own stencils, so it's not that big of a deal. I added a picture of my test run, which was my very first time trying the kit. Looks great to me! I went ahead and bought a 10oz bottle of Armour Etch cream, because I know we'll be using this quite a bit for personalized glasses and shot glasses. Perfect kit for making Christmas or birthday gifts.

This kit is great for someone that hasn't etched before. However the stencils are really really small and I don't have time to cut them out with the little knife. Lucky for me I had a machine to cut a stencil out to practice on. I did use the glass that came with the kit to practice and watched a youtube video on how to get great results with this product before I actually did anything. The etching was perfect! The Armour etch cream works!

I absolutely adore art and DIY. I am actually a drawer but have decided to expand my creativity. I was intimidating with this idea of etching ad I have read many articles and it appeared a little complex. When I found this kit it seemed to be everything I need, my conclusion was right.I cleaned out an out glass candles and used just soap and water to clean it. I used the stencil of the butterfly as my first test. Simply place on the glass rub over the stencil to transfer ( this can be frustrating step. Be sure to pull back a little piece to make sure your design transferred) Apply etching creme in a blotting technique. The whole thing should be covered DO NOT PAINT IT ON. I did this at first and the etching was darker in some spots on my first try. Let sit one minute and bam, wash off and your done Beautiful and professional looking piece of work. This set has everything you need. This has become addicting for me.

Like that it's easy to use and all starter information is there. Dislike that transfers are all just one time use so cant have a pair of champagne flutes that match, or if it's detailed and dosent transfer correctly, it's unusable. Needs some re-use flowers or something that we can use over for group items or even 2 or 4 of the same larger use patterns.

Wow your not suppose to use them on glasses but I totally ruined my transitional trifocal lenses by leaving them by my hot tub and they fell in. A week later I found them and they were nothing but "spider scratches or cracks" could not even see thru them. Anyway it was worth a shot and HELLO IT WORKED. and the transition still works. 3 minutes on each side initially followed by another 3 minutes on one side of the lense. just followed the instructions. Better then new and saved my $400+ buck glasses.
