Yes, but it's fabric- lined, not vinyl or silicone, so it's not your traditional reusable food storage bag but.... to each their own! It would wash up just fine!

Can baby wipes be stored in these and keep their moisture ?

It’s great for damp clothes. Washes well in machine but I didn’t try placing wipes in it

What is the material on the outside of the bag like? I purchased another from Bumkins but it’s very thin and plasticky. I’d like a thicker canvas feel

The outside of the back is a thick material, like canvas, and there is a separate lining that is also thick & waterproof, almost a leather feel to it. I think I know the Bumkins bag you're talking about & they are nigh and day different from one another - I would nearly trust this bag with a bag of water poured in it!
