these are some pretty good prices i find on amazon. not always the best, but often enough. as is the case here. cisco is the best, period. they are by far more expensive, but you sometimes get what you pay for. lifetime warranty for one, at least on these devices. that being said, you have to understand cisco to use them. there is a web interface which is fundamental, but serious knowledge is necessary to utilize these to their fullest extent. the consumer should not spend the money on these, no doubt. for the professional, especially cisco ccna educated, this is no different than any 2960 device. same ios 15.2 or above. these come with lan base features and provide all layer2 functionality. the cool thing about these are they are only 8/10 ports, small and fanless, and yet have the full robust features as the 24 and 48 port version with lan base. easy vlan setup if you have a vtp server already setup. great port security and ability to shut down unused ports, set max mac addresses, etc. most can be done via the web gui, but i am a cli person. i plan a job, write the config to a txt file and cut and paste the standard, basic settings. i rarely have issues and traffic flows as expected!!!

It's the best of the best and this switch is as good as it gets. Great solution for the small office. Works with all of the common iOS commands.
