awesome product
I normally dont write reviews, but I feel like this is worth it. Bought two of these to power an off grid house 2 miles out in the Louisiana marsh. Have over 500 hours on each and works like a charm every time. I even accidentally put some fuel in them that had been tainted with water. They shut down but because there is a drain attached to the carburetor, I was able to easily drain all the fuel and replace. Cranked right up and runs great. For teh price, these are the best generators around.

Total dissatisfaction. DO NOT BUY.
This review is for the model GENMax GM9000iE that I purchased on 9/5/2022 for $1999. The delivery of first unit was a week earlier than stated. Unfortunately the generator was damaged, see pictures. The weld at the handle was bent and broken. The plastic housing in a couple locations was not seated properly. It appears the generator was damaged and then packaged. The shipping box was not damaged. I never fully removed it from it's packaging foundation, therefore I never operated the first unit. I immediately called Amazon, they directed me to the manufacturer. The US support contact is a 3rd party: [email protected]. (this is the same contact printed in the user manual). The support reaponse is slow and poor at communicating. After 5 weeks of calls and emails, nearly every other business-day, they were able to send a replacement. I received replacement on 10/25/22. But they did not pick up the broken unit. The website says they are available 24 hours a day. This is contrary to my experience. Very hard business to contact. The new unit arrived in physically good appearance. Primary problem with new unit: Generator only puts out 160v not 240v. Multimeter reading is the same 160v from both the 30amp receptacle as well as the 50amp receptacle. Unacceptable. I am waiting for response from support team for resolution. The handle release lever is dysfunctional and will not slide out far enough in order to release the handle to drop into down position. This is a very very cheaply made piece of equipment, all around. It is not super quiet. 89 decibels. Engine Timer does not accrue. Only counts one session, not engine life. Oil drain is obscured by shielded electrical lines. Simply terrible design. Buyer beware. This is not a quality product. It does not offer the specifications that are advertised. I will update as resolution is met.

This generator is a beast. It has saved me during two weather events
I bought this generator 2 years ago. I selected it as its an inverter generator with nearly 8000 continuous running watts and a 50 amp plug (don’t buy any generator that does not have this plug type). I wanted a generator that would run my whole house including one 3 ton air conditioner. 2 years later it was put to the test twice in 45 days. A couple of hints and tips on setting this generator up for whole home use. I have a large home and I have a device that tracks my average and max electricity watts used. The device is a Emporia Home Energy Monitor Smart Home Energy Monitor. With my pool equipment turned off my home uses ~6000k avg with one 3 ton air conditioner on. So the continuous watts on this generator has my use case covered (why spend $20k on generac?). To hook this up to my home I did the following and you can look up how to complete each step on youtube. 1. I installed a new 50 amp breaker in my main panel 2. I ran a heavy gauge wire from that new breaker to 50 Amp Generator Power Inlet Box on the outside of my house Amazon.com: Rophor 50 Amp Generator Power Inlet Box, NEMA SS2-50P for 3 Prong Generator Cord, 125/250 Volt, 12500 Watts, Weatherproof, Outdoor Use, ETL Listed : Patio, Lawn & Garden 3. I installed an interlock kit (a bunch of videos on youtube will explain what an interlock kit is and its use. Basically its for safety and easy to install) 4. On my AC that I plan to use during a power outages I installed a Micro – Air Easystart (again search youtube and learn why you need this. But without it your generator will likely not be able to turn on any large AC due to something called the “initial inrush” of electricity when an AC starts up.) 5. Finally, I bought a 50 Amp NEMA 14-50p Generator Cord Basically this DIY setup allows me to plug my generator directly into the new 50 amp breaker in my main panel and power everything in my break box (again I turn off my pool pumps and one run one AC when using the generator but everything else is on) In May 2024 my house power went out for 109 hours straight due to a storm. I ran this generator for all 109 hours continuously. No breaks and I did not shut it down once even when refilling it. This unit holds approximately 7 gallons of gas which for me lasted 10 hrs before refilling. My average watts used was ~6000 continuous so it was under heavy load the whole time. It never had any issues at all. My biggest issue was toting 5 gallon gas cans around (I have 7 five gallon cans). I changed the oil and washed the air filter after using it. In July 2024, luck would have it a hurricane hit, and I lost power for 90 straight hours. I turned it on during the end of hurricane and ran it for 90 hours straight with the AC on the whole time. Not one hiccup. It’s a beast and if you live in hurricane territory in the US and don’t want to pay Generac an amount equal to a new small car then I recommend this.

Not a trust worthy company.
I spent over $2000.00 on this boat anchor. I have the receipt, and it does not work. The company refuses to fix it or give me one that does work. Do not buy anything from this company. They will only get your money and send you something that does not work. At this point in the game. I just want my money back, and they can have their boat anchor back.

Excellent generator. Quiet. Powers whole house with a caveat.
Bought 2 years ago. *Only run non ethanol gas. * I finish each time with shutting off fuel and letting the generator run to empty. This way there is no fuel in float bowl. * 50 amp plug is only good for 31.6 amps. * quiet * I have 2x 2 ton ac units with soft starters * I followed break in period. Changed oil. And then I set a reminder on my phone. Every 2 months I pull it out and put a small load on it and run it for 45 minutes or so. * ran my whole house during hurricane Milton. I ran it for about 60 hrs non stop. * I use emporia energy monitor on my panel. I was even able to cool the house down, turn off both ac units, power is hot water heater, and run for 45 minutes. Even had hot water during hurricane. * it’s quiet. Fuel burn is not that bad. 7 gallon lasts 10 hrs at 60% load. @Genmax: where is the battery tender plug? Mark 50Amp plug as only 31amps unless using these in parallel. Please add a remote reset button to your key fob in case overload is triggered. Provide instructions on bypassing CO sensor (or add a switch to turn it off). Provide easily accessible fuel drain plug. I have a lot of mods/improvement ideas on this unit. Some I have already done. I’m interested in testing out your larger unit if you want to send me for review.

So far, so good
First, the large item delivery process from Amazon was super easy. I got the 9000IE and I've only just completed the break-in period and haven't really put this to work yet. For break-in I ran it for 1 hour at idle, changed the oil, then did the same thing again, and AGAIN. 2nd and 3rd oil changes looked almost like new oil, which is a good thing! Before filling it with oil for the first time, I added a magnetic drain plug, and a magnetic dipstick. Both + the filter collected some metal shavings, but nothing noteworthy- also good! I used conventional oil for the break in, now onto synthetic. The magnetic dipstick Amazon said people frequently buy with the generator doesn't fit. You need a 19 or 20mm one. 20mm is an exact fit, but the closest I could find was 19 and seems to work fine. It came packed well and had no shipping damage. It is heavy, and the wheels do seem small for the size, but it's pretty easy to move, especially given its weight. For those curious, the 2nd "On" setting for the fuel knob is not a Choke. Choke is indeed automatic. Not really sure what the 2nd "On" does as the generator seems to run fine on either. I added my own Battery Tender cable to it to keep the battery always ready. It's extremely quiet, and seems to do a good job at pulling air through to keep itself cool. Still, because it's summer, I setup a small fan pushing more air into the intake side. Complaints- when draining the oil, it sometimes runs along the bottom side plastic and drips on the ground beyond the reach of my drain pan. The pull cord for backup start is on the oil drain / fill side and gets in the way when you need to open it, which you do more often than the other side with the battery. All in all, so far, so good.

Do not recommend
Worst generator I have ever owned. Only 3 months old and the electric starter is already fried along with carburetor is leaking fuel when generator isn’t running. Generator is burning oil. After 100 hours or so and only 2 oz low on oil the generator will shut off due to low oil. Total pain to have to add 2 oz of oil every 100 hours. Extremely disappointed in this generator and have not felt so ripped off ever after dumping $2300 in a generator. Beware, there is nowhere in the United States to have any warranty work done. They will reply to your emails from China asking for pics and videos of the issues you are having. After sending pics and videos to them proving your issues to them, they will totally go off grid and 100% blow you off. So, make sure you have someone that can repair this generator for you at your expense.
