Can I sharpen a pocket knife with this.

If your pocket knife bevels less than 17° per side, you can use this item to sharpen. Common angle of pocket knife is 20° per side depending on which brand of your knife. What am I doing wrong? does the point of the arrow face me or away from me? I'm right handed do I hold with my left hand?

I too am right handed. I hold it with my left hand with numbers and info facing me. I insert the knife straight down into the "V" of the sharpening area. I had to perform the it several times with different pressures until I found I was actually sharpening the knife. It worked pretty well for me.

Is a Swiss Army pocket knife 17 degrees or less?

Generally, the pocket knives are edged at 20 degrees, but some Victorinox blades are thin enough to be sharpened to 15 degrees, but the edge becomes less strong.
