Good alarm
Had this alarm for 8 years before it needed replaced. Easy to install and test. Like the added temperature display. Was looking to replace with the same model but got a shock when I saw the price was now £73. It was only £15 when I bought it in 2014.

Ideal detection

Great bit of kit
So what I like about this item is it’s very simple to install and simple to test and read the LCD display. Luckily it’s never detected carbon monoxide but I feel reassured that it’s from a leading manufacturer and I have three of these in My Home now.

How to repair it
When the battery runs out, don’t throw it away, repair it.Remove 4 screws on back and open the case.Opening the case pulls a jumper off 2 pins and cuts the power circuit. The jumper can be retrieved by prising off the batch number cover.Then replace the battery. Either desolder the old and solder in an identical new one. Or replace with a 2xAA inline battery holder and mount it externally.Put the jumper back on the pins.Test it and screw back together. Admire what £3 of parts can achieve.
