Good hooks
Easy to assemble and install. A word of advice, only use these with flat rails or crossbars. They’ll be more sturdy than a round bar. I can’t get them tight enough on my round bars to not get them to not move. But they definitely do the job with proper bars.

Solid and Secure – Perfect for Our Tahoe and Kayak Adventures
We purchased this Kayak Roof Rack for use with our Chevy Tahoe, and it’s been an excellent addition to our outdoor gear setup. From the moment we installed it, the build quality stood out — sturdy materials, solid construction, and a design that clearly prioritizes security and stability. We’ve used it several times now to transport our kayak, and each trip has gone smoothly. The rack holds the kayak snugly in place, even during longer drives and highway speeds. There’s very little movement or shifting, which gives us the confidence that our gear is safe and secure on the roof.Installation was straightforward, and the fit with our aftermarket crossbars on the Tahoe was spot-on. The J-bar design makes loading and unloading manageable, and it also frees up space for other gear when we need it.If you’re looking for a dependable and budget-friendly kayak rack for your car, this is a great choice. It does exactly what it promises — and does it well. Highly recommended!

Mount is too large
Seems pretty solid, even though it is NOT a single piece style. Assembly was easy. The mounts need work. I wish the flat bar part wasn't bent so much. I had to cut up a mud flap and use it as a spacer so it could be tight enough (see pic). The straps also need to be a bit longer to allow the best usage on a large kayak. They'll work, but longer would be better.

they work!
It was as described, good product. Pain in the azz to keep putting them on and taking them off car when not in use though.

Unable to install b/c pieces don't fit together
Wish I could give a full review of the product, but alas the pieces don't fit together. I managed to piece one of the craddles together, but the other three were impossible. None of the pieces fit together to put an M8 carriage bolt through. The steel plate that sits under the rubber piece doesn't fit snuggly inside like the rubber groves suggest. I had to resort to using a rubber mallot to push one of the bolts through, but the square flange of the bolt still wouldn't fit inside the square hole. When I pulled everything apart, I saw that the ends of each part of the craddle were splayed outwards. Even when I did manage to roughly fit the two ends together, the square holes don't line up to let the M8 carriage bolt fully sit inside its hole. Does no one at HQ or their warehouses QC any of their products? Returning and requesting a full refund.

Some handy work needed **updated**
***UPDATE***After I modified the pre-drilled holes, I assembled the racks and attempted to test fit on my HF Haulmaster ladder rack. The mounting bolts were not long enough to mount the bracket to the ladder rack rails. I couldn't find a metric bolt with the same pitch that was long enough, so I bought a package of 5/16in-18 x 4 inch carriage bolts, 5/16in vinyl insert hex head locking nuts and 5/16in rubber end caps. (I could have gone with a 3 inch bolt, but I practice the mantra better to be too long than too short.) I was able to mount the racks and they feel solid. I test fit one kayak then measured 21 inches from the end of the rail to mark where I was going to mount the inside kayak rack. That worked out fine. After I installed the rubber end caps onto the end of the bolt, I noticed that the caps tended to slip off easily. Knowing that road travel will end up having these shake loose, I used HF heat shrink tubing on the ends and after shrinking the tubing to the bolt, the end cap fit snuggly. All in all, even after the modifications (which weren't that hard to do), these racks seem solid. If all goes well on my trip, I'll move the product rating up one star (to a 4 star rating).I bought two sets of these to haul four kayaks. Most of them were easy to put together, but two had holes that didn't line up exactly. I ended up using my round file to elongate the hole. After multiple test fits, I finally was able to get the last two assembled. I haven't installed them on my ladder rack, but I don't see any reason that they shouldn't work as advertised. I gave three stars for the quality control.

A Great Buy!
They fit excellently on my crossbars. Nice and snug. Love the adjustableness of it all. Fits both my kayaks perfectly. Would recommend, especially for the quality of the item and the price.
