Dawson DSM155 Digital LED Light Meter

I really took a big risk buying this thing since there were no reviews. However this is what I have learned: It does work for measuring LED's light output, specifically for assisting in guessing on how far to place your lights away from plants. It does require you to take SEPARATE readings for all the light types to ensure accuracy. Auto does work but some color LED lights are a bit brighter than others (meaning you need to place your lights further away if you actually just use auto function), so for precision it takes a bit more work checking each individual light type (red,blue,etc). For the price though it does a really good job and is (in my opinion) a great alternative to super expensive LED light meters. I am budget conscious, and want a product that does the job right at a reasonable cost. There are some things you must not be cheap with, but this one I feel is very cost effective, and still works too. I am glad that I purchased this. Be absolutely sure to read the directions, they do actually help. Also take your time, this is not a 5 second fix, this is a be patient, do it right, and save yourself a few hundred bucks item. If you want something that does it in 5 seconds flat, then prepare to pay upwards of $600 minimum. If you are lazy this is not the product for you.
