Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX
This is our 4th pair because the sound and the comfort is perfect for the price. I owned two pairs of the previous version (TB Stealth 700 Gen2 non "MAX") and fell in love. I've been using Turtle Beach headsets since 2010. The warranty is a good peace of mind also. One of the beast features is the simultaneous Bluetooth function. This headset allows you to wirelessly connect to your PC / Console via USB dongle, while also connected to your phone / tablet via Blue Tooth without switching connections. So you can be listening to music or taking a call on your phone, and the audio from your console / PC can still function simultaneously. You might not think its a big deal, but it comes in handy, I don't think I could live without it, especially if you are paying over $100 for a good headset. You can watch a tutorial video on your phone when you get stuck on that boss fight, or cant figure out a tricky puzzle in an RPG, or browse social media while waiting in queue for your game to start etc.* Some other brand headsets have Bluetooth and wireless capabilities, but a lot of them DO NOT work simultaneously. If you want this functionality, do your research. *Another cool function is that they can work with Xbox or PS regardless of what it says on the package. I have a Xbox Series X and a Play Station 5, and the same headset works for both consoles. Just flip the switch on the dongle to PC.The foam around your ears is soft memory foam, they have good bass for music and gaming, though you can adjust the audio mixer via the phone app. Easy to use and it isn't all glitchy like other apps. I also really like how the microphone can be completely hidden, so they look like normal headphones in public. Also the mic mutes automatically when you flip it up, so you always know if you are muted or not easily. They come out of the box pretty tight, if you have a small head / young teen / child, they will stay in place. For my big head I always have to stretch the headband out a good amount, but that's fine because it has a metal headband inside so it eventually forms to your head. They do have a good weight to them, they don't have that light cheap plastic feeling. That could be a drawback for some people but I don't even realize they are on after a while. The mic quality is good nobody ever complains in game about a bad mic sound. It also has mic monitoring which means you can hear yourself talking if you wish, you can adjust the level or turn it off in the app.Unfortunately the older non "MAX" variation (Stealth 700 gen2) were prone to the plastic breaking after heavy use. I haven't had that issue with the new "MAX" version, but they are essentially the same headset, but now they just use a dongle, where before the Xbox version did not require a dongle. I had to superglue two different sets because they both broke after heavy use, they WOULD still work, but it is annoying having to glue them back together. I've fallen asleep over night with them on and have had sessions of 12 hours in a day, so your usage my be different. However, EVERY Turtle Beach product has a 1 year warranty, so if they break they will send you a brand new set, and you can keep the broken set until you cant bare it anymore. I still have my non "MAX" superglued set as backup just in case. I used both warranties on my broken headsets and everything went smooth, great customer service. I do hope they address this issue if they ever release a gen 3 version. With that being said, Now I am careful and mindful of how I put them on, I simply stretch the metal headband without touching the ear cup section to put them on my head. No issues, just don't grip and bend the plastic ear cup section, you might eventually put too much stress on the plastic that holds the ear cup housing that connects to the headband. That's where my old headsets broke.Even with those two broken headsets from the previous version, I still ONLY use the Stealth 700 gen 2 MAX now. The features, the price, the comfort, and the sound is what keeps me coming back.I did try the Microsoft wireless headset for Xbox after my second TB headset broke, the earmuffs were too small and the sound was terrible. I literally would not game until I got a new set of Turtle Beaches again. The sound is NIGHT AND DAY in comparison. The Microsoft headset sounded like the audio was coming through a soda can, they felt cheap and plastic, and definitely did not have simultaneous Blue Tooth capability. Also, you always get a Turtle Beach sticker in the box, that hasn't changed since I bought my first headset from them back in 2010. 👍

Only purchase to gift to someone you hate.
The headset itself doesn't have many pros, but the pros it does have are really good. The battery does seem to last roughly 40hrs, and the sound quality for a wireless headset is really good when it works. That's the problem is it has so many issues, a lot of which could have been avoided if whoever designed these thought about the user for half a second. They stopped at the speakers and battery and figured that's good enough.I'll start with the software, why is there a PC app that's one and only job is to update the headsets firmware. Why do I have to use my phone and connect it to the headset to adjust settings the one or two settings you gave us? Why does the app when asking me if I'm having trouble crash when I click the yes I'm having trouble button? Why is there zero option to stop the audio muting whenever a setting is changed, volume is maxed out, or device is connected? Why not give us the ability to control the sleep on the headset? If they cared about the user there'd be a pc/mobile app with basic features you'd want like those. As a pc only user I'd like to see a pc app as an option, especially when the mobile app doesn't keep the saved settings applied half the time. Also how much does an accurate battery indicator cost? They give away phones with better battery reading than this headset. The best they can give you is estimates at 25% intervals.Onto actual hardware, I hope you like unplugging and repluggung usb devices in because the dongle loves to turn off until I unplug it and plug it back in. Turn your pc off? You'll probably have to replug it in. Headset turn off and the dongle lost signal? 50% of the time you'll have to replug it in. The range is also pretty weak, 10ft would have some audio stutter, one wall is also the limit as it'll start stuttering and cutting out. The headset has two volume wheels, one that's dedicated to the dongle and another that's reprogramable, great in concept but using it for Bluetooth audio control is worthless as it's super fragile and has zero tactile to it so easy to bump and blow your ears out. Would much rather see it used as a mixer for the dongle/Bluetooth volume with tactile bumps. It's primarily plastic so I'm unsure of how durable it is, the inner band is atleast metal and the buttons feel really cheap but make a loud clear tactile click when being pressed. Takes a few hrs to fully charge and lasts 35ish hrs. One other big gripe I have is the volume button has zero effect on windows and windows volume has zero effect on the headset unless windows is set to 0 than it mutes the headset. I don't see why the volumes can't be controlled together. Makes volume wheels on keyboards useless.I'd only recommend the headset if you can get it on sale, and don't care about user experience past being wireless and having decent audio/battery. I haven't used many wireless headsets, the audeze penrose, corsair void, and corsair virtuoso but out of all of these the penrose and these are a strong tie. The pentose sound a touch better but the battery is horrible and these sound nearly as good but last way longer. The virtuosos as much as I dislike corsairs software has way more user comforts and better support compared to these while still sounding alright after a little EQ.After even more time with it I'm ready to smash it with a hammer and use absolutely anything else. Nearly every time I turn the headset on I have to unplug the stupid USB dongle and plug it in again for it to connect to my pc. They don't update their broken garbage app you need to use or else your forced with a mic that's always on even in the up position. They will take your money and leave you with a half baked product. Shocking how little turtle beach cares about its customers.

Perfect headset
UPDATE: Going on 8 months now with this headset and it still works perfect for me. No cracks in plastic or any signs of breaking. As long as you take care of the headset you'll be fine. Its a shame this headset doesn't work for everyone because for me it's the perfect headset. I use them interchangeably between my Series X and PS5 daily and doing so is cake work. The dongle provided with this headset has a switch to select either Xbox or "USB" which you use on PS5 or PC. The battery life is stellar, the sound is great and gets plenty loud, it can connect to your console and phone at the same time, the flip to mute mic is a godsend, and the overall build quality is Sturdy. Not sure how people actually break this headset as I've used it for about 5 months now with no sign of breaking/cracking, but to be fair I take care of my stuff. The ONLY negatives I have experienced with his headset is every now and then I can hear crackling coming through but it lasts a few seconds and then it's gone and the clamping force is tight right out the box. I've stretched the headset out and it fits perfectly fine now though. Overall, this headset is the best bang for your buck in my opinion and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
