These grip far better than my old clamps. I would recommend to anyone. Love them and would definitely buy again.

With the shell having a heavy duty roof rack supported by the interior aluminum frame buit into the shell I didnt feel the four standard clamps that came with the shell from ARE would be adequate to hold it onto the truck while supporting heavy roof loads (rated for 550 lbs) I added these four GCi clamps and moved the factory clamps in between 4ea per side using these as the corner clamps. They are bigger and bulkier and very functional and fit perfectly on the 2016 F250 truck bed rails with ARE CX HD shell (6.5'bed). The bolt head (9/16) is the same size as used for the ARE clamps which I keep a wrench strapped in the shell for tightening.

There are actually eight clamps per box contrary to the item description and box label, but, hey, I'm not complaining. Just needed to return the extra box full for a refund with shipping gratis.

very tough but needed room to clamp it , but would work very well if you have hieght inside your topper for the clamp

Broke one of the bolts while tightening up for its use on a cap. Good for light duty but wouldn't recommend it for anything heavy duty
