Works as Advertised
I am happy to say that this product is good quality, performs well, and looks like it will hold up well to being exposed to the elements year round. However, I am mostly pleased with this product because it resolved an issue I was having with replacing my old adapter that was no longer available. The original adapter had a prefabricated plug that only fit my particular landscape lights and with an exact replacement either not available or extremely overpriced, I worried I had no other options. However, I read other reviews that stated that even though this adapter also had a prefabricated plug of it’s own design, you can remove the plug by cutting the wire and slicing in the plug from the old adapter. It is important to note that you need to be sure beforehand that the specifications match for both the old and the new adapter. Once I had the old wire spliced into the new one, I also made sure to wrap the exposed wires that were spliced together individually with electrical tape, and then I secured them all together with additional electrical tape. Keep in mind that there are are two wires, and matching the old wires to the new wires may not be clear. If the unit does not work with the wires matched one way, switch the wires and it should work fine that way. I wanted to share this because I was frustrated before I knew about this option, and thought I was going to have to replace my entire landscape lighting system. I knew this was going to cost a lot more than I wanted to spend. I saved a lot of money this way, and now my landscape lights work just like they did before. I hope this review might help someone else with the same problem. But Ben if it is used without changing a thing, I am confident you will be happy with this product.

Transformer
It did not work on the better homes low voltage easy install lights. Looked like a good transformer just not for me

Did not work right out of the box
Purchased to power my recessed deck lights after finding out that the seller I bought them from does not sell a replacement themselves. Several reviewers stated they bought this due the same thing, but it does not power the lights.

Needed an additional transformer
I bought a three-pin inset LED light set for deck lighting from another company, and then realized I needed to split the string because of placement. The original sellers were decidedly unhelpful in answering my request for more parts (for which i was willing to pay!). Found this on Amazon and ordered it after checking that the load was sufficient. Worked perfectly. Cord not super long, but does the job.

works great for the price.
Works fine, but had to "jury rig" the connector as it was the wrong configuration for my deck lights. Beats the heck out of paying $100 for the manufacturers replacement that went bad within the year.

Does not work with SMY Lighting brand
My low voltage transformer from SMY Lighting went bad so these had the same specs and I ordered 4. They DO NOT WORK with the SMY Brand. Not saying this is a bad brand, I'm saying it doesn't match up with SMY. Probably works fine with the brand it's made for.

Works as Better Homes and Gardens replacement
The BHG transformer was rated 18 volts DC. This one is 12 volts but it can be used with a little jury rig. The FVTLED has a male connector. If you cut the line off the BHG supply and attach two crimp connectors, they can be inserted onto the male pins and it will work. A little tape to hold it all and keep out the water completes the fix. Remember, this is DC so you have to match the + and - . Try it one way and if it doesn't work, switch the pins. You need to cut back the insulation on the connectors and squeeze everything to make it fit.
