This center punch does not have the strongest action and therefore does not always mark materials if they are too hard.

Didn’t do what I hoped.

It kinda works. I have to push down so hard to make it trigger that I've already dimpled the board (pine), but when the spring does release, it makes a bit larger hole, suitable for starting a drill bit. The push down required is more than my current spring punch, but the current one takes a second hand to pull the spring action up. I wanted something that was one-handed. I did not find this model to be adjustable. When you unscrew either portion of the barrel, the punch just comes apart. I am exchanging this one because it fails to "shoot" about 1/3 of the time: something slips on the inside and it doesn't trigger. I'll upgrade this review if the second try works. At the moment, if you buy it, be prepared for a series of trade-ins until you get one that works. It's a good idea, but I suspect manufacturing problems.

It is way bigger than I expected. It's so big that I'm unsure it can be used with one hand lol.

I liked that I got to center my drill bit in the exact location I needed it with this tool, but only twice before it broke. VERY DISAPPOINTED !

The spring isn't adjustable. Doesn't even click or make a dent in the mild steel.
