It's just really thick hard tough plastic but it should work on gravel or other surfaces too!
I probably could have gotten away with just the solid rubber wheel chocks, but this will be handy when parking the trailer because it is much lighter than the concrete slab block that I have to always jockey a million times back and forth until I get it lined up with that fixed point. With this, I can put the plastic cup down at whatever spot I back my trailer onto and then lower the trailer wheel onto it with much easier effort . Just put it down and lower your wheel jack.

Work better then I ever thought
These are great, hold every wheel and Jack I’ve tried. They keep trailer out of grass, mud, sinking in gravel over winter storage. They are awesome. Very well built, but yet very easy to move and transport.
