I LOVE this ice vest!
I LOVE this ice vest. Not a paid reviewer, and I bought these two myself, not gifted by seller.I bought these ONLY because they could deliver fast (next morning) and a lot of them had been ordered.First, I am sitting in my house without AC and it's in the 80's in here and I'm comfortable and cool. These vests cool at least 3 hours, and maybe more since I was using the included gel ice packs and they weren't frozen solid yet. It was a little bit of a pain to fill up the water ice packs, but the gel ones were so easy. All you do is soak them and squish them around a little then leave them underwater for a few minutes.(I left a metal kitchen crusher on top of about 5 of them and that held them under)The vest itself seems well thought out, the pockets are waterproof, but because I didn't completely dry off the bags before freezing them a little of the ice dripped down the fabric. Not a big deal at all.The velcro straps are very adjustable so I could make it as tight and against my chest/back as much as possible.I'm an XL and I had no problem with the Large size. Love that there's a zipper so once you have the straps set you don't have to mess with them again. Also thought it was cool that they put the freezer bags in a little insulated lunch bag. Nice touch, kind of a freebie. I bought two so my other family members could use them, but even if they don't I'm freezing all the bags that came with that one too.Look no further, this one is the right one to order.

So far, decent value
Developed a weird issue where when I start sweating during workouts causes my back to itch (thermally-induced pruritus). I use a spray bottle of ice water to wet my gym t-shirt, put this on over it, and continuing spraying "underneath" the vest as needed. So far, good control of itch. Also, works fine with my sit-on-top kayak in warmer weather. I wear the vest with the front packs and top back packs. The latter remain above the kayak's backrest, and none of them interfere with arm motions needed for the kayak paddle. (Don't want to chance rupturing the bottom back ice packs against the backrest.)Fit for me is fine, man 5'10", ~180lb. Might not work for large men, but I have plenty of "leftover" room on the Velcro portions, so would think it should fit taller, somewhat bigger folks fine. The seam for one of the ice-pack holders started separating, used some fabric glue, and it seems to be holding. Raises the issue of durability.Have on in gym for an hour, off for about an hour stretching (don't want to lie down with it on and risk rupturing ice packs), then on for another hour rowing. By the end of that, about 4 hours (1 hr of which is outside in direct sun and heat) have passed including travel time. The 4 ice packs in use are all melted but still cool. Plenty of packs are supplied; I filled 6 (enough for a full vest), keeping the rest in reserve for now. If you are going to be out longer, could keep 6 in the vest, 6 on reserve ....At this price point, it is hard to go too wrong.I wonder if the company has experimented with a reflective outer finish that would further reflect heat. The other bonus they could consider is including some fabric glue so once the shoulder straps are adjusted, the entire shoulder assembly can be glued together, assisting in easier transport.Filling the 6 packs, I did get a little air into the bags, and could not figure out how to get it out without potentially damaging the bags. Maybe in others' comments (which I will read after submitting this) someone has a method.

It’s worth every penny!
I would gladly buy one of these with 6 ice packs in the back and 4 in the front. That being said, I believe this is the best one on the market for now. I didn’t realize it would come with both style of freezer bags, but mine did. Both have their advantages and you can buy more of each separately on Amazon. At my time of purchase though, it’s the same price as just buying a second vest though. I’m 50+ and diabetic, so this years heat is literally killing me. I feel like I’m about to die within minutes of stepping outside. These filled and fully frozen allow me to get out and move slowly for a solid hour before thawing. They are still chilly and allow me to get back inside. I will be soaking wet and I have the feeling of being covered in icy hot if that makes sense. You are hot, but yet there are patches of cold that you can focus on to keep from totally collapsing. It’s no miracle, but it does work. I usually take a good break and dry off, then swap the pads with freshly frozen ones. That gives me another good hour to finish mowing. Be careful cooling of in the ac though. Being hot and soaking wet, then stepping into ac causes me to cool off way to fast. On another note, I was trying to be way to careful not to get air into the larger style freezer bags by using a straw to release air while filling them. They have a fascinating design though, so just let water drip in until it starts absorbing the water and then fill to the line on the baggie. It seems to have a simple one way valve design that inserting a straw bypasses. The other bags just absorb the water and expand, which is super simple. The ones you fill are slightly bigger, but the soak ones slightly easier, but a tad smaller. I’m not sure if either will last longer at this point than the others. I truly hope this review helps and if your looking at these, I feel your pain. God bless!
