Great blade both style and quality. Sharpens well and lasts a long time. Wood looked a little dry to me and a couple of coats of linseed oil improved the look substantially. Because of its variety of ways to open its always easy one handed operation. Worth every penny. Ive been carrying a knife daily for well over 50 years. You'll love this because it does everything well. Perfect size.

Excellent quality. Perfect size for everyday carry. Very sharp and easy to use. The blade is thick and durable.

This is a solid knife with a serious demeanor and a wicked sharp factory edge. It has a substantive feel in the hand with good ergonomics, a finger choil for choking up on the blade, and ample jimping along the top spine of the blade for additional control. While the deep carry pocket clip won’t win any design awards, it functions well and on this black handled version, blends in innocuously. Here’s the caveat and why I ordered this knife twice. Check the quality control on your copy upon receipt. On the first copy, the blade operation isn’t buttery smooth and the blade sticks and hangs up (see the video). The button randomly jams and requires some force to actuate. It just doesn’t seamlessly deploy and retract without effort. The second copy by comparison, is great! The blade operation is smooth, consistent, and requires very little effort to operate. The button action is less sticky and seems to work as intended. And, the blade doesn’t drag or hang up like the first one. Overall, this is a good knife with a pleasing shark like aesthetic and a solid build quality that looks to perform for years to come. At this price, it’s a good buy. Just make sure you receive a good copy. Time to send the first one back. Hope this review is of help!

In my search for the perfect EDC knife I ran into this one, the CIVIVI Conspirator - a button lock knife. I had never even heard of a button lock before so I got it just to see if it really is as good as as everyone seems to think. I got the black micarta version. I knew it was a bit too big to be my regular EDC, but once I got it in my hand I just couldn't put it down! The micarta is so nicely smoothed everywhere it feels better in my hand than most knives I have held before! I like it so well,I decided to carry it as a backup in case I damage or loose my regular edc knife. Opening and closing it is just plain fun to me using the back flipper tab and button. The Nitro-V blade steel seems to be a relatively new one that promises to have better than average toughness and corrosion resistance, but tends to sacrifice edge retention to get those other qualities, but supposed to be easy to sharpen. This knife has a slightly larger blade, and body when compared to the CIVIVI Cogent. Also the blade geometry of this knife gives a more robust point to the blade than on the Cogent; Good news for you ice chippers. The smooth lines and weight distribution make it easier to carry than I expected and I forget its even there most of the time. Performance wise it has no problem with cardboard boxes, and makes that job a lot more fun than with smaller knives. It is also pretty light for it's size @ 3.8oz. I wouldn't rate it a real survival knife, but maybe urban survival.

Real talk: I bought this because I was visiting friends and was flying down... and I didn't want to check a bag. You just never know. That said, I carried it a few days, and then handed it off to my buddy. He LOVED it. Civivi knows their way around a knife, and the Flipper/Button Lock combo makes this a fidget toy for big boys, and the micarta makes the grip solid and secure for when you really need to get into breaking down the small pile of amazon boxes and get them out to the bin. Also does great in almost any other required situation, and while it's a bigger blade, it's slim and sleek to store away in the car if you're walking into a baseball game and don't want to get tazed and thrown out. If you forget, it's cheap enough to replace. No matter your choice on blade and scale type, you can't go wrong here.

This knife is the best folder under $100 I've ever used. I liked the first one so much I bought another. The Nitro-V steel is great, it's a flipper, running on bearings, and a button lock. Blade will drop shut and is super fidgety. The button is super stiff for about a week and then it will wear in. The micarta scales feel good. It's extremely ergonomic, it slices well, holds an edge, has a good action, and both of mine had no imperfections and came perfectly centered. Can't ask for much more.

This is my first CIVIVI (Green micarta Nitro v Button lock) knife and probably my last. I have been using and collecting knives for over 30 years. I tend to buy knives that are intended for EDC and can also be used for outdoor and light bushcraft stuff. Heres why. 1- The knife came pretty dull and could not cleanly cut through paper. 2-The button lock is nice but the blade will bounce up if you close it with any speed. 3- looking at the locking mechanism I am not sure how robust the small pin is, and I wonder how it will hold up. It does lock well and have no issues at this point 4- What exactly is "Nitro steel" I don't like when manufactures use terms that don't reflect the composition of the steel. 5- The tip is thin!!!! pretty sure If I gave it any pressure it would break. Not that this knife was intended for heavy use. But the description shows it being used in the outdoors. 6- With the factory grind the knife had a hard time cutting/carving dried wood and will not feather stick. I had to spend time reestablishing an edge and making the knife useful. Some other reviewers state the sharpness was great. So this either tells me there is a quality control issue from the factory or the reviewer has low expectations. 7- Fit and finish is very nice and the ergonomics of the knife is well done. The scales are contoured and feel great. The action is smooth and is wearing in well. Pocket clip is nice with a good grip. 8- No lanyard hole. There is a post on the end and you can put one there if you want to. I also have a Sencut Knife (Scepter flipper $42) and when I calculate the value to price comparison I think the Sencut wins. I will see if the Nitro steel will lead to a re-evaluation of this but for the money there are much better knives out there. (I paid $79.99 ) Overall I think this is a good light duty EDC that just needs a little edge help. The button lock is cool and the knife is comfortable in the pocket. The Micarta is also well done.
