Excellent purchase. Won't find a Sena 50s anywhere on net for £207. Absolute bargain.

Being fussy and technical, I wanted something that did things correctly and quickly when riding a motorbike. This is perfect.....

It's the second sena 50 I've had. I won't be buying Sena again. 1st one lasted a summer. This one 18months. Has to reset factory fittings after using intercom to talk to other users.. constantly repeated not connected. So irritating. Now the connection is intermittent. I have to press the Sena down to connect at times which is not safe when riding. Expensive lesson sorely learnt.

Very easy to fit to helmet, control and use are tricky but you get used to it, there is a learning curve. Phone works great, sound is fine at legal speeds, not brilliant just useable. My only gripe is I cannot unplug the speakers and mic to swap the kit between one helmet and another I have to move the entire thing. Other than that this is expensive kit but it does actually work as advertised with 2 phones / GPS and Intercom all at once.

Music volume = very very very poor. Intercom volume = brilliant. I can’t hear any music over 35mph. Intercom is crystal clear at 100mph+ with full akro system. I can’t figure out what is wrong and how to fix it. Phone calls, intercom etc. Is all ok and crystal clear, and excellent distances. Music? Pile of rubbish.

Why did you choose this product over others?: Sound garbage forget about listening to music, intercom ok until starts to chop all without reason and no matter the distance. Very disappointing

The technology just didn't work very well. the signal was very crackly and had very low range. I had a Sena SRL which worked pretty well with my friend (on another bike also using a different Sena system). It stopped working after 4-5 years (which itself was disappointing) and so bought this top of the range new Mesh and Bluetooth system. I went for the top of the range (newest technology), mesh (although I didn't need it, it would be more future proof) and compatibility with my friend's system. It was much worse than the 4 year old system. The (bluetooth - I didn't use Mesh this holiday) comms was very poor - bad range, crackly signal. I telephoned Sena support and, although very friendly, their advice was to reinstall the firmware and restart. it made no difference. Am sending it back as not good enough for my needs. I like Sena but very disappointed with this. Not sure where to go with another comms unit now.

Operating the senna was awkward with glove on preferred my old senna s20 but I went for the upgrade which was very good . Unfortunately Operating it is my priority

Pairs to both bike and phone via Bluetooth without any issues. Easy to establish connections to other Sena units via open mesh and group mess. Finding the correct buttons on the unit with summer gloves is easy enough. About the only time I need to use the buttons when riding is to switch on/off the FM radio if the voice command fails. Some of the other functions I need to preform, like answering/making call, playing music, turning the volume up/down can be done from the bike (BMW R1250RS). Unit is not easily transferable to another helmet that has mic and speakers installed from an accessory kit. Speakers and mic need to be disconnected from within the helmet, which means removing the lining to get to the connections. Unlike the Sena 50S which can be installed using a cradle, making the unit easy to transfer between helmets with the accessory kit. Don’t believe the distance the units can communicate over claimed by Sena in the real world. Maybe in a flat open desert. I have been able to communicate with another Sena unit when out of sight, being over a hill and around a corner. Getting commands to execute via voice starting with “Hey Sena” can be tricky. This appears to be a common issue across the Sena range.

I've been using Senas for a while now as I am always riding with a group. The 10 series was already great but this is much better. The Mesh functionality is so much easier to use it makes the extra dollars worth it. The thicker profile of the HD speakers have made me have to look for a different helmet though as they were pressing against my ears. I am loving it otherwise.

These headsets appear to work ok as an intercom only. But until I spend roughly another $1000, on a wireless headset interface module from Harley Davidson, these units will not pair with my 2023 Harley Ultra Limited. SENA would know this and this should be CLEARLY advised BEFORE purchase. Hence the 2 stars because until then, no music or navigation directions are available from my motorcycle. 👎
