Our desert mesh tarps are tough and give 73 percent shade while allowing 27 percent light penetration. Made of durable polypropylene, these tarps offer full protection against the sun's harmful UV rays. The breathable material is tear resistant and retains its flexibility even in arctic conditions. Desert mesh tarps make excellent truck tarp that cover and secure cargo in place. They are also excellent tarp choice for use as a camping shade, in patios, or in any areas where a sufficient amount of shade is needed.

Not Beige/Tan--Think dark mustard with a hint of orange.
This sun tarp works fairly well. It appears to block approximately 60% of the direct light. In my patio I now have full sun on the planter box, no direct sun under the two umbrellas and partial sun under this tarp. It was the perfect size for my use. What I am not happy about is the color. No way is the color beige or tan. It is more like a dark mustard with a hit of orange. Almost a dead match for the color of the 3 Amazon stars I gave it. After looking around my patio area I did find a fair amount of this color in the many pillows on the two benches. So I decided to keep it.
