Are These Tinned Truffle Crisps Worth It? Simple Answer, Yes! They Are Dangerously Delicious!
How could crisps cost £5.31 per 100g? I opened the box and was confronted by three cylindrical tins - wow I thought, this could be why. The packaging feels instantly more premium than a rustly old crisp bag and more of an occasion because of it.The cost explanation continued once I opened the tin via the ring pull and there was a lovely truffle/garlic scent from the contents. The crisps are thin cut and feel like very good quality kettle crisps. They feel slightly oily but not in a cheap way and of course are very moreish. The flavour is delicious. It's not as overpowering in the mouth as I thought it would be, but the flavour is so long lasting. The good news with the tin packaging is that it can be recycled as you would a can of beans, so environmentally it's better than a plastic crisp bag. However there are still a couple of (minor) problems with this tinned packaging. The first is that you can't reseal it, so once open, the crisps need eating (which is no hardship I can assure you). The second is that there is the risk of injury to the hand on the sharp edges on the inner rim of the tin opening. You have to be really careful as you insert your hand, grab a handful and remove, as I found my hand would come perilously close to getting sliced. Far better to pour these crisps into a posh bowl once opened and save your hands! Far more civilised! If you are after an indulgent treat, then these tinned truffle crisps will definitely fit the bill, as long as you are of course happy to foot that bill.

Truly delectable
Absolutely delectable. They're so tasty and moreish. There's a few different aspects to what make these exceptionally enjoyable. Obviously the taste, truffles are a unique flavour and I've had them in numerous dishes and it's a flavour I really enjoy. I was unsure if it would work with Crisps but it certainly does. The crisps themselves are the perfect crisps. Perfect thickness, perfectly cooked, crunchy and crispy, great sizes and completely in tact and not crushed. With regards to the packaging I did think no lid might be an issue. But I can see why one isn't provided, because it would be pointless, once they're opened without doubt they'll be finished.Even my wife who would never choose a truffle dish in a restaurant had some of these and agreed they're delicious. The only thing she didn't like is the strong smell. My advice, don't breath in through your nose before eating. With regards to the price, they're expensive. Undoubtedly. But I feel the taste and experience commands that high price. Put simply they're double the price of 'posh' crisps in the supermarket ie Kettles or Sensations. But in my mind they're leagues ahead in terms of taste and enjoyment.

They are not for me.
I’ve always wanted to try truffles as it’s a form of a mushroom and I love mushrooms. Truffles are extremely expensive because they are hard to find and not easily cultivated. Usually, only top chefs use them in their cooking. These truffle crisps arrive in a box containing three tins. The tins have a puller to open them but no way to reseal them if you don’t consume all of them in one go. These are 100g tins which is about three packets of normal crisps.Commenting on the taste is hard to do because we all have different tastes. What’s great for me might be horrible to you and vice versa. Some fall somewhere in between the two. It’s rare for me to ever call something horrible, but this is one of those times. To me, these crisps are really unpleasant, and they repeated on me for hours even though I only ate a couple. Others in the household found the same thing. As I said some, I’m sure, will love them but not around here they won’t. To me, they are not even worth one star, but that would not be fair. They are crisps, and they are flavoured with truffles and that’s what the seller is offering. There is the minor problem of the tins not being resealable, and so I’m giving them three stars.Overall, they are not for me. I hope that helps.

Got these for a gift, they’re delicious 😋
I love truffle, and some truffle items don’t really taste much of truffle, but these crisps are lovely and they do taste of true truffle, , I haven’t bought these from Amazon , I just came to buy some more of what i had been gifted. I got a white tin, and the no cover is annoying, I had to eat them all in one go so I didn’t risk ruining them. If you like truffle, you will love these.xx
