Where are the Instructions
The instructions did not make sense. So I am yet to work out how to use it. I wish to track a cable for my mow to find out where it is broken. I have tried several ways. But, if only the instructions were precise and clear as to where to attach the transmitter unit cables, then I could use it. A crocodile clip is not obviously an earth connection.

Fiddly but functional
found the source of a clean break in my automower low voltage cable thats been burried for coming up to its fourth season. Fiddly to calibrate (for me I drive a desk for a living) but once you get the hang of it I found the break in less than 30 minutes. Delighted given that almost 1200m of cable was buried

Far too quiet!
After experiencing a fault in the boundary wire of my robot mower of course I turned to you tube. The best fix was to find the fault using one of these gadgets. In the video it seemed really easy , in fact the tone given off by the unit they were using very similar to this was so loud they had to use ear phones so not to upset the neighbours. When I used this , by the time that I was about 5m away from the source , I had to lay on the grass with my ear to the floor just to faintly hear it. The cable was only 5cm under the ground but was pretty inaudible I’m afraid even the volume up to max. Not great I’m afraid

£30 no batteries, and doesn’t detect cables
Cheap and nasty, or at least it would be if it was cheap. £30 for £2 worth of plastic, and they don’t have the common decency to include batteries. Can’t report on how it works until the batteries arrive. I’m not expecting good things though. Keep an eye out for one of these on Amazon Warehouse soon!Update: bought batteries, long story short- it doesn’t work. Can’t detect a mower wire on the surface more than 40cm from the transmitter. Can’t detect a wire buried as little as 1cm below the surface. You’d never be able to find a broken cable with this junk.Save yourself time and cost of batteries. Don’t bother with this item.

It works!
Found the break in my mower boundary wire in about ten minutes. I would never have found it searching visually without ripping the whole lot out. Instructions are complete gibberish, but YouTube videos of similar products are plentiful.

Found the breaks in the wire
Pleased with this. Buried guide wires for robotic lawnower had breaks. Hubby going to dig to find them! This found the breaks, we had 3! Our fault for digging tree shoots popping up in grass! Missed the location a few times but easy to use went over area and found them. Pleased

Cheap and did not work
Can't be that complicated to actually test before they send out, transmitter only produced a dual tone, no continuous tone or LED to indicate, and receiver only worked for about 5 seconds then nothing absolutely useless

Did not do what it said on the tin.
Initially a mobile phone was sent to me in error. I returned said phone and reordered. Device arrived promptly 1 day ahead of schedule. Spent an hour trying to locate perimeter wire for Huskvana robot mower to no avail. Watched YouTube video and tried again. No joy. Detector did not find the wire so could not locate break in wire. Returned product for refund.
