It works, and delivery people use it!
I have had the smart drop box for over a year now. Initially I had issues with it connecting to my wifi, and after trying numerous times and searching online for a solution, trying a replacement from Amazon, I just gave up. I just used it without a pin code. The symptom was that all seemed to work fine during the connection process, except for the very last step where it actually connects to WiFi.So fast forward to earlier this week. The box stopped "talking" and eventually stopped opening. So I just had to recharge the battery. I opened the box with the key override, and removed the battery to recharge it. I decided to let it charge overnight, to ensure a full charge. The following morning the blue light on the battery was on, and I reinstalled it. Just for fun I tried connecting it again, and this time it worked on the first try! It updated itself to the latest firmware version, and all seems to work fine now.Was it after all the lower battery charge (voltage) which stopped the connection process? Or was it maybe the firmware in my Xfinity router? No idea, but it works now..!One small thing which I think is a design flaw, is the locking mechanism. About 50% of the time the first try to unlock it doesn't work. The second try works 99% of the time. Pushing the lid down when unlocking always allows the lid to open. So this points to too much pressure on the latching mechanism (tolerances too tight). Unfortunately it is very difficult to reach to modify, and I have not really seen an easy way to disassemble the front section without taking the whole box apart.Overall the quality of the box is great, it is surviving the tropical wet climate in South Florida, only the instructions sticker is coming off ...The motion detection seems to work fine (only been able to test it for a week), but I disabled the voice prompts when motion is detected.I think the box is a good deal for the $199 it is selling for at the moment. I paid more, and after struggling with it, it was not a great value, but there are very few alternatives available. Now it is working, I can recommend it, even for the price I paid . The box has kept many packages safe, but mainly dry!

Junk, Lies and Eufy
This is probably the worst purchase I have made on Amazon. First, the safe is not worth more than a hundred dollars in materials. I would be surprised if this thing would survive a three foot drop, the metal is very thin and overall the whole thing feels cheap. Second, there are these raised brackets you attach, for reasons? Only one side is raised and unless you slowly screw each screw a few turns at a time, they become off balance and prevent the lock from releasing. Once again, for as much as this junk pile is, pay 0.0000002 cents to add another raised edge to balance the bracket?Third, and by far the worst, is this does not support Homebase 3. These two items were released with 12 months. This safe is less than two years from release, yet Eufy can't be bothered to update the safe? This product should be delisted due to lack of support.Because of this if I want any video recorded, I HAVE TO PAY MORE, by buying the old homebase 2. Now the lie is obvious and why the safe "can't be updated" according to support. Eufy just wants more money, that's it. Well this is rhe last thing I buy from Eufy.

I'm glad I bought it (on sale)
I've only had the Eufy SmartDrop for several weeks and it has been working great. It has detected every motion to a fault. I've also tested it with different packages and it will recognize the package and lock every time.It took me about 20 minutes or so to put together. The pictogram illustrations were easy to use.Connecting to wifi was a little bit of a challenge. **Make sure your phone is connected to 2.4 GHz WIFI during setup and NOT 5 GHz as Eufy won't connect to it if that's the case. You can Google how to change your wifi to only broadcast 2.4 GHz.Another note: On my Eufy box, the SYNC/setup button is white and is located on the inside, left side (as you're looking at the box) and not behind the Open button as stated in the App.Inputting the codes and all other parts of the setup were relatively straightforward. The camera is great.I placed it on my front porch and secured it with a wire cable rather than drilling holes and securing it into the concrete. The interior of the box is approximately 1-1/2' x 1-1/2' x 2' high, so it will hold quite a few packages or a very large one.*It will work regardless of wifi/internet connection. Thank goodness :)I highly recommend it.
