Whirlpool W10130695 Latch

This is the 3rd handle now for my dishwasher. The original and replacement failed and I installed this one the day I received it. My dishwasher is a Maytag Quiet Series 100 Model MDB5600AWB and the part fits perfectly. It's an easy install - turn off the power or unplug the dishwasher, remove the screws on the door (torx 20 bit), pry loose the top by the handle and pull it out from under the cover (mine had plenty of wire), unplug the 2 wires connecting it, plug them into the new handle and then insert the new handle back into the dishwasher. Put the screws back in and plug it in and it should work properly. Took less than 30 minutes to replace and the part is cheaper than a service call.

Maytag is made by Whirlpool, and it took a bit of Google searching to find that this fit my Maytag dishwasher, but it's a perfect fit! Super easy to install, and just had to have an extra set of hands as it was awkward to install. But it just took about 5 minutes to switch out with the old one. There is a little button on the side of the plugs that you will need to depress before they snap into place, so if you purchase this item, keep that in mind. I broke one trying to get it clipped in. It works great. Better to buy the Whirlpool one and save money over the Maytag one (about $8 difference)

The latch on our Whirlpool dishwasher broke. I found this replacement and ordered via Amazon. After about 14 days before the holidays, the package finally arrived with part inside and nothing broken. Was not hard to install, just several small screws to unscrew from the door and tricky to get the wire connections. Was able to install this replacement Latch on my own. The price was very great & reasonable.

Went in just like the youtube video said it would. It works great.

Fits. Right color. Looks as well made as the original. If you can change a light bulb you can do this and save yourself a large repair bill.The important things to note are: 1. Make sure you break the circuit to the unit before starting as the switches on the latch are, of course, live; 2. Be careful with the edge of the inside of the door panel when you loosen that and lift it to get at the latch, those edges are quite sharp.The slightly tricky step is disconnecting the old switches from the cable bayonet connections. However, if your problem is that the handle has broken then you can leave the switches cabled up and move them to the new latch saving you the trouble and still having the new switches in case one of the old ones eventually fails.

I got this part to fix the broken latch on my whirlpool dish washer. It was extremely easy to install. I followed instructions I found on YouTube. I especially noted to kill the breaker when installing to avoid electrocution. One note is my original unit had a white handle and this replacement has a black one so it doesn't match exactly but I don't think that's a big deal. Anyway, very quick and easy appliance repair!

This is an exact OEM manufacturer's part replacement. My dishwasher door latch broke. So I replaced the whole assembly including the two switches. I was able to remove the door screws, disconnected the (2) wire connectors from the assembly, popped it out of the door & slipped in the new assembly, reconnected the wiring & replaced the door screws. Total job time, (including finding & turning off the dishwasher circuit breaker), 15 whole minutes. Yes, I used my power screwdriver, (that's why I have it). It is BETTER than the original latch. It is much easy to operate. If you need one, save a lot of time & buy the whole assembly. It's worth it!

I have ordered it for my Maytag black mdb6601awb dish washer. The worst part is to disconnect the old latch from the power. But took about 15 minutes to replace and works great. Hope this oe will last longer then the previous one.
