Great advice on the best diet to become a vegan beast!
I just finished "The Way of the Vegan Meathead" 2d Ed. I thoroughly enjoyed it! The meal plans are intriguing, and I'm likely to give it a try very soon. Although I'm unlikely to become a powerlifter, I still want to crush it in the gym, on my paddleboard, rock climbing, etc., while maintaining a healthy and fit vegan physique as I approach 60 years old in just a couple years. I found the book informative, inspiring, motivating, and, at times, quite humorous! Definitely recommend giving this one a read!

A practical approach to vegan powa!
I'm not vegan, but I have toyed with the idea of making positive ethical changes to my diet. Over the years I have heard (and probably espoused) the view that vegans are weak and can't consume enough protein to build muscle. I believed that veganism was for people whose idea of peak physical fitness was the ability to run for a real long time (and that's cool if that's your thing), but this book proves there is another way. The way of the vegan meathead. Daniel "the denim demon" Austin shows us that it's possible to get jacket and lift heavy weights by eating loads of processed vegan food. You might say..... "no, no, no, that's not the right way to do it, you have to eat raw foods", well you can do that if you're comfortable with a 265lb. lifetime deadlift PR. If you want to turn yourself into a buff vegan meatball that smashes big weights you're gonna have to make some changes. My most important take away from this book is that veganism doesn't have to limit your potential if strength sports are your thing. Additionally it presents a path that doesn't feel too alien to a meat eater. Buried under all the profanity and bravado is a pragmatic approach to veganism. With the way of the vegan meathead Veganism doesn't feel like a 180 from a meat based diet, it seems attainable, possibly easy.

FINALLY an honest conversation about vegan protein for muscle building.
I am a vegetarian trying to find a real way to move toward a more vegan diet while muscle building. This is the first plant-based book I have read that acknowledges the realistic needs for muscle building and provides practical advice on how to get the protein with out dragging along other macros. Other plant-based whole food books by nutritionists I have read either do not go beyond the macros needed, or just gloss over the section and leave you to figure it out yourself in the real world. Some of them even complain about gluten, when, as I had concluded based on my own experience, eating a mix of soy and seitan is the only reasonable way I have found to get where you need to go if you want to build muscle as a vegan at this time. Obviously in the rare case that you have a true gluten or soy allergy, that will be a problem. I do not. Although quinoa and beans are wonderful foods, in terms of macros they are carbs, not protein. THANK YOU. This book is NOT a whole food plant based diet book. That being said, I prefer to eat whole, plant foods when possible. However, this just doesn't cut it for muscle building if you want to compete with omnivores. Processed foods of some sort do wind up coming into the equation if you want to compete without eating animal products. Again, THANK YOU.I am not a body builder and don't plan to be on a perpetual muscle-building cycle, but for times when I do, this book is definitely the best one I've found so far for advice and a reality check. The author is refreshingly clear about his purpose.

Great read! Motivational, insightful, had me chuckling the whole way through!
I’ve been weight training for about the past 6 months, and truly wish I read this book 6 months ago. I learned SO MUCH. It motivated me to reach new personal records, and inspired me to be a strong vegan force for the animals (so I can one day carry the orcas out of SeaWorld). The author is very knowledgeable about weight training and veganism. The book is a fun read, easy to understand, and had me chuckling all the way through. The meal plans are super helpful and convenient, I was able to find every recommended product at my local grocery store, which I appreciate bc I hate having to search around town for weird niche products. Overall I really enjoyed this book and 100% recommend.

This is the way
Daniel is the man! This book is a wealth of knowledge for vegans into strength sports. There is an insane amount of take away from this book. Dialing in your nutrition is simplified. Daniels writing style is down to earth and humorous. I recommend this for all vegans and “soon to be vegans”.

Amazingly helpful book!
First off, this book is great! Daniel has laid it out in a way that is simple to use and extremely informative. From the meal plans, all the way to the humor, this book has everything you need to be on your way to drinking the blood of your enemies (figuratively speaking; You shouldn’t drink their blood). I’m not really outspoken about being vegan, but after getting the first, and now the second edition of this book, I’ve become a freakin’ jacked monster! People can’t believe that I consume zero animal products! Buy this book if you’re a vegan and want to know how to intimidate all of your meat eating cronies!

GLAD I'M DONE
Considering all the gratuitous vulgarity, this book could have been actually written by David Goggins. "I'm strong, so do what I do" - sums up the whole work. Want good science on a plant based diet? Read T. Colin Campbell.

A good read for aspiring vegan meathead's !
Love the meathead mentality of daniel as a fellow lifter myself i could totally relate to how daniel thinksSome of the things i did not like in this book is the use of Fake meats to reach your protien goals , dont get me wrong i'm not against fake meats at all would love to eat them and enjoy the protien it offers but as a fellow reader from India , Fake meats are still not a thing here we do get fake meats here like Beyond meat but they are very expensive hence sorta makes this method not sustainable but overall a good read!
