good but not great
I am med-peds trained, practicing hospital and emergency medicine for both adults and kids. I have also practiced primary care. This book has pros and cons:Pros:CompactRinged binder allows you to leave out pages you don't need or add others to it (if you see adults and kids, you can put MGH's Pocket Medicine book along with these pages in one binder).Contains some very good info in table and outline formatCons:Index is not very helpful (lists every page that mentions a topic even in passing, without letting the reader know which pages are devoted to the topic).Missing important info (two examples: next to nothing for AAP neonatal jaundice guidelines, just refers you to the seminal Bhutani paper; a similar lack of info on indications for antibiotics in neonates...these are common, important clinical situations)Pricey for the size

Decent resource
I am a Med/Peds resident who was looking for a good companion to my Pocket Medicine: The Massachusetts General Hospital Handbook of Internal Medicine (Pocket Notebook Series) (Ring-bound) . My Pocket Medicine is very well used and an excellent resource. I have had Pocket Pediatrics in my coat for the last two months and have referred to it a couple of times. As with Pocket Medicine, there are many subjects not covered or not covered in great detail, but a comprehensive resource is not what this book is meant to be. So far, it's usefulness on the wards has been adequate and I hope to update this review when I have had more time with it.

Review Book
I bought this book because I loved the Pocket Medicine Book. This book was very helpful to me during my inpatient Pediatric months in residency. It has a lot of useful information, but no where near as helpful as Pocket Medicine is for Internal Medicine.

Great pocket source for pediatrics
I'm a PA student and this was recommended by my instructor. I have referenced it several times already. It gives dosages for tx and covers nicu to the older limit of pediatrics. Would recommend.

More than I expected.
This is a "right to the point" medicine reference for pediatrics. Great for hospitalists. More detailed than most clinic/office providers need.

Great for the non Paediatrician
Great for the non Paediatrician. For doctors or nurse practitioners that want that extra layer of 'reference' security when treating kids, this book is gold.
