I read reviews and was not surprised by this bike. It is built solidly as I would expect from Schwinn and was not crazy hard to put together. I did have to adjust the derailer and it was simply a matter of turning 2 screws. Instructions are in the manual for everything you need to know and there is a customer support number provided as well.Ride quality was good. Seat is comfortable, though the seat is white so shows dirt easily. Brakes were noisy at first but after several rounds of not hard braking I was able to build up enough on the rims that they are quiet now. Gears shift easily after the easy adjustment.I purchased accessories including a basket for the front and it was easy to fit these as the design can accommodate a large basket in front.My bike did have some scuffing (can easily buff out) and a few minor dings. I plan on contacting Schwinn to see if they make a touch up kit like you would get for a car. This does not bother me as it was overall I'm good shape upon arrival.It does include wheel and front/rear reflectors which is something I wondered before I got it. Tires needed minor inflation so be prepared for that.I will update my review if anything changes, but I am happy with the Perla. The "blue" is definitely a mint/sea foam color which is my favorite. I recommend the bike!

The media could not be loaded. Update 12/12/23 - Schwinn was excellent, they immediately jumped on the issues and replacement parts are already on the way! The bike seems to be pretty good quality, with great paint finish.I just unboxed (on 12/10/23) a schwinn that I bought for my wife as a Christmas present. We got it all assembled, and when we inflated the tires, the rear inner tube exploded. Oh well, stuff happens, went to Walmart and bought a new tube figuring that would be easier than waiting for one from Schwinn. After installing it we realized that the rim is badly bent and need to be replaced. There's no impact marks and the box wasn't damaged, it's just made wrong. I have reached out to Schwinn but unless they approve a replacement for the rear rim I'm stuck giving my wife an unrideable bike for Christmas.

I love the look of the bicycle however, it took my husband an entire day to put it together... It is not easy because what needs to be put together has to be perfect otherwise could be very dangerous. The ride is smooth but the brakes do not work at all... One of the brake part is touching the white part of the tire and we tried everything to correct it but it does not stay in place... The worse problem is the handlebar which does not stay in position as you ride... A little pressure on it and it becomes loose... Yes I take the tool with me when I ride to be able to tighten the screw around the handlebar but it never stay and that is so dangerous!! Too bad I love this bike but one has to think about being cautious with it all the time.

First, the positives: It is adorable. I love the color and the shape. I would often get compliments on it while on my daily commute. The ride is smooth, and the seat is incredibly comfortable. That back rack is also nice if you have ways to secure a bag on there. The rain guards over the wheels are convenient.Overall it sounds like a great bike. Then why the 1 star? The one thing that negates all of the good things - the brakes are awful. They screeched every single time I used them and were just unbearable, both for me and everyone else on the block. It was embarrassingly loud. I had two different mechanics check it out, and was told both times that the screeching will always be there because of the brakes rubbing on the paint on the rims. The paint also started chipping away because of the friction. Didn't sound or look good. After a few weeks of having the bike, riding it every day to work and trying to break it in so it would go away, I had to return it.If you are planning to ride in a place where you don't need brakes, then it might be fine for you somehow. But I live in a city and frequently need to brake, and not once did I do it without the brakes screaming for everyone to hear. If you are in a city, I do not recommend this bike.

I was really skeptical about buying this bike due to all the bad reviews. But to my surprise my bike arrived no damage whatsoever and my husband put it together quickly with no issues I have rode it with no issues and she is so beautiful! So happy with my Perla schwinn bike! Can’t wait to take it camping on all the trails!
