Do these actually work with the pencil post (jis post) batteries?

this works on a 2015 nissan pathfinder?

They work well, but DO NOT adjust the levers so they are hard to close or they will break off. Try adjusting them snug. Turn them side to side to determine if they move. If they do, snug them up s little until there is no play and you done.
