One Small Wonder
My purchase replaced an old Sony ( the same model) that has made it it possible to listen to local FM radio stations when and where I chose without subscription fees. Batteries are cheap and last a long time. It is easy to carry and almost indestructible, too.I bought a new one fearing this model was being disappeared to promote higher priced items. So now I have a spare. It works well and I am happy to have it for emergencies.

High quality small radio
The Sony ICF-P27 is a high-quality radio with nice design, case materials, and dials. It is surprisingly small and portable. The reception and sound quality are good, considering the size of the speaker and antennas. The claimed battery life is high but I haven't tested that.Sony's bigger radios like the ICF-506 would be better choices for desktop situations (plug into the mains, bigger antennas, bigger speaker, etc.).

Great personal portable radio
I have a few of these, great little radio when you dont feel like dealing with Bluetooth or playlists. Battery life is great, get them when they are on the cheaper side.

decent product
nice portable radio, a bit bulkier than I was expecting, but perfectly serviceable for my needs at decent price. Also, works off of AA batteries.

I Never Go on Vacation Without it!
I do a lot of travel and never leave without this radio! I never have trouble being able to use it anywhere! Plus it is compact and easy to carry in my purse or suitcase! And, very reasonably priced!

Substandard Maunfacturing
There was a time when Sony products were the gold standard for electronics. I believe that was when they were manufactured in Japan. That is no longer the case. I have bought this radio many times for several years. When one would die, I'd just buy another one - they would wear out from extended use (three or so years at least) and I felt I had gotten my money's worth out of them. But this last radio, and it now seems to be a trend, the on-off switch is faulty. And this glitch seemed to appear the first time I turned it on out of the box. Now it cuts out to the point it where it won't stay on. And it is only about six weeks old. I would have bought another one for $20 and taken a chance it might work, but now it is no longer affordable. Sadly, I feel I can no longer purchase this radio with confidence in its functionality or its value.

Wonderful small portable radio with ear buds
I have used these portable radios for many years. One for the bathroom when getting ready in the morning, and one for overnight listening to talk shows. The Sony works extremely well. They take two AA batteries and for the overnight radio, they last at least a month which I think is very good. Every night is about 8 - 10 hours of use. Love the radio. Tunes in stations easily.

You pay for Sony Design
I still listen to radio so I bought this. I've always appreciated Sony design and quality in the past. This still has pretty good design in terms of style, but the performance is definitely not up to past Sony standards. Tuning and reception isn't the greatest (hate the truncated tuning scale), especially considering the fact I live in LA and not some remote area. I don't get clear reception on major stations, and trust me I have other radios! Also wish it supported stereo for earphones. External speaker is tinny, but I don't expect much there. But, this was around $25 and a more trustworthy brand compared to what I saw on Amazon. This is why I bought it. However, I would've gladly paid $10-15 more if they improved performance (tuning and stereo). Focus on performance and quality Sony!
