From This Dog's Point of View...
If you happen to be a dog like me who gets very excited over the sounds made when your dinner is being put into your dog bowl... and you just have to run like crazy over those horribly slick hardwood floors to get to your meal... then you will want to lick your master right on the face when he gets a can of Krylon 3400 to spray VERY lightly all over the floor --- and especially on that one last tight turn into the kitchen! No more crashing into the walls for this dog.My big paws never slip on the wood floor anymore. I also don't slip on the floor in the part of the house that has laminate flooring---and you know how we dogs hate that stuff. Woof!A WORD FROM THE MASTER: I'm very happy with Krylon 3400 too: one can sprayed VERY lightly does a whole house ( just a little mist does the job)... and no one can see it either. The mist is invisible. I apply it from waist-high---while walking steadily backwards without pausing. My shiny real oak flooring still looks shiny after the light mist of Krylon----all of the shine; none of the slips. I strongly recommend this product.UPDATE TIP: This product works best when sprayed VERY LIGHTLY. Don't spray it like paint. What you want is a very fine mist of droplets that are well-spaced apart from each other. That "spacing" is what gives the product it's non-slip feature. If you spray it like paint and try to soak the entire floor surface, it will not work! I would say that you cannot possibly spray this stuff too thinly. Just hold the can at waist height, and walk at a normal pace. Each tiny little spray droplet will be a distance from the nearest neighboring droplet. If the floor was shiny before, it will still look shiny----only (after the droplets dry) you will NOT slip on that floor any longer---and neither will your dog. Do NOT apply it like paint! One can should be enough to cover an entire house---when sprayed VERY thinly and quickly.I don't use this product outdoors. I believe it is designed to be used on INDOOR floor that is dry---but slippery. For outdoor wood surfaces, I paint the wood---and then while the paint is STILL VERY WET-- I toss some dry, sharp sand across the surface. Do not brush after spreading the sand---just let everything dry. Days later when you eventually get around to sweeping or hosing off the surface, some of the sand will remain stuck to the paint---and you will not slip on that surface. Hint: mixing sand INTO the paint before brushing will have the exact opposite effect of what you intend. Sand mixed into the paint (or brushed over while the paint is wet) will result in a surface that is covered with thousands of little particles that have paint smoothing over each particle. That surface will act like you spread thousands of tiny little ball bearings---- and will be FAR more slippery than the plain wood ever was. The way you apply the sand is all-important.-----------------------I you or someone you know slips and falls on a floor after you've used this stuff, then you had Better Call Saul for good legal representation. ;)

FAIL!
I asked Krylon what ingredient provides the "non-skid" feature. Their answer was that the ingrediants are on the label (they are NOT!) and SDS. The SDS lists no ingredient that would provide texture, so it is not surprising that the application (to wood steps as pictured in the sales info) had no texture at all. This is simply clear spray paint and entirely useless as advertised. As with any spray paint, the nozzle clogs quickly and may work again after a soak in alcohol, but who cares? 0 stars for deception

Makes your acrylic templates non-slip
I use this on my acrylic templates (sewing/quilting) to make them non-slip. So much cheaper than buying the non-slip templates.

Invisible, effective, not very durable
I used it on the deck of a sailboard--fiberglass composite material. It was nearly invisible, didn't cover over logos and design at all. Provided a surprisingly effective non-slip surface. Similar on some aluminum hiking poles. In the latter case, it wore off quite quickly. I think this will happen on the sailboard as well. For a more permanent treatment probably need epoxy coating with texturing material.

Holy moly - this stuff works miracles!
We have stone patio stairs that are stained and become real slippery when wet. Both my wife and I have fallen on them in our quest to secure them. I spent hundreds in grip tape and rubber mats and all they gave us was an empty wallet and a black and blue butt. I tried this stuff out of desperation and OMG it works! I sprayed a healthy coat on the entire stair surface and it's been a flipping dream (not literally) ever since! You can't see it at all - it's very clear / invisible and it adds the grip we need to traverse our stairs safely. This is such an inexpensive solution that's incredibly effective - I wish I tried this before wasting hundreds on unsafe fixes that did more harm than good. Buy this now!

Not textured as described in the ad.
I am normally elated with Krylon products but I believe this one is false advertising. The can on the Specialty "Non-Skid" spray can clearly says "Textured Finish Adds Traction". There is no texture whatsoever in the spray--it is more like clear coat. It does not say anything on the can about adding texture so the assumption is that it is in the spray like some of their other products. I nearly broke my wrist falling down the steps on our deck so I sprayed this product on the steps but I sincerely doubt this product will help in any way with slips and falls. I plan to buy some play sand and adhesive paint and create my own non skid surface.

Works if you do it right.
Works well! Some of the reviews I read said it didn't work. I was a bit nervous to try it, so I just bought two bottles. One reviewer said to put on 6 coats. So I tried it today. I have 6 steps and I did 6 coats on 3 of the steps as a test. The steps are 3' x 9". I did 6 coats on 3 steps with pretty much 1 bottle. I have a bit left in the bottle. I just went out and tested out the steps and they are not slippery but have a nice low grade sandpaper feel. Also to note, my steps are painted concrete. In the winter months they get slippery with the wet and snow. I did as the paint instructed and lightly ran some sandpaper over each step so the paint wasn't so glossy. Then I sprayed one coat on each step and let it sit for 10 minutes before applying the next coat, then let it sit for 10 min, etc.Worked for me.
