Learn Excel 365 Expert Skills with The Smart Method: Sixth Edition: updated for Jan 2022 version 2201

I thought I knew a lot about Excel and this book showed me I didn't know as much as I thought I did. The instructions were well written, and the practice files allowed me to test my understanding of the new concepts.

I teach among other things, Advanced Excel. Since I created the course this has been the chosen textbook. Been using it since 2015. First the 2013 version, then 2016, and now 365. (1) It has a great price unlike most university textbooks. (2) It is very easy to understand. Two pages are a lesson. You feel you accomplished something. (3) The author provides the practice files at no cost from his website. No special codes to enter. (4) Have on occasion had to contact the author and the support and response is top notch. RECOMMEND 100%.

The files for this course wouldn't download, and I'm not stupid. Don't buy this product.

This fellow should have been named Mike Best. Yes, it is the Smart Method. It is also the BEST method for learning Excel techniques and structures. This fellow has helped me immensely. I'll bet you'd feel the same. -Guyr8s

Best books for learning Excel. Period.

Good product

I did not feel this was an advanced level excel book, but it is thorough and has most of what you need. I was hoping there would be more about the use of some of the less common formulas and how to use them. People can get so much more out of excel than we can learn from these books - I am tired of books that promise advanced excel and fail to deliver.

Even though I consider myself an Advanced Excel user, I still learned a lot of tricks from this book. It brought my Excel knowledge up to current (Dynamic Arrays, Get & Transform, etc.).I loved the fact that each lesson spans over 2 pages only. Also, being a hands-on book, it allows you to see the "theory" in action right away.Loved it! I will be on the lookout for other similar books. I hope for some with Power BI or DAX language as subject.

A big book (bigger than the normal doorstops 29.5 x 20.5 cm) and a lot of content, but not fully the coverage I was hoping for (misses out on "365" functions;- TOCOL, TOROW, WRAPCOLS, WRAPROWS, TEXTSPLIT, TEXTBEFORE, TEXTAFTER,LET, AGGREGATE,FILTERBY, INDEX MATCH, HSTACKVSTACKCHOOSEROWS, CHOOSECOLSBYROW, BYCOL etc.. ) after page 623 the page numbering stops ??!!On the whole, it's a useable book for people learning as it works on the old school method - 'do this do that' exactly as the teacher used to show but does step through the functions to get started.It is fair to say and has to be noted that not all "365" functions that I have listed are available yet worldwide as Microsoft are rolling them out progressively.

I've been using Excel for about 30 years and still found new information to learn from this book. A worthwhile purchase.

Having just converted to both Windows 10 and the Subscription version of Microsoft Office 365 Home, I needed a book to bring me up to date with the latest Version of Excel for 365. After many searches I settled upon this book using the SMART Method. I can honestly recommend this book. The format for teaching the Excel 365 Office version is set out in such an easy to follow method it's exceptional. Each lesson is concentrated into small units with Screen Grabs that it makes learning so much easier. Follow the Authors guidance and don't race forward, ensure you have absorbed each lesson fullyFrederick
