My family loves these straws! I hated the idea of using plastic and adding to the landfills, but the fact that these are biodegradable makes me feel much better about the environmental impact. They can be bent without cracking too! They are not individually wrapped (if you're looking for that).

I had been using a silicon straw for my bedbound mother's coffee, but she didn't like the fact that the straw became discolored, even though I washed it. So I decided to try an earth-friendly, disposable alternative and chose these, made of cornstarch. These seemed to be a good price, and I like the bright colors. They are pretty durable -- even after a day's use, they show no sign of dissolving. Unfortunately, though, Old Mother kept complaining about the way the straws would collapse when she drank from them; she was going through several per day. So I'm going back to silicon straws.

Trying to make more earth friendly purchases - these straws are plant based and compostable. At some point we have to consider all the plastic that is going into the landfills and oceans.
