This is very sturdy, much sturdier than other spikes used in the past. It works very well for deeper watering at the root level. The construction allows for very easy assembly and use. It was also much less expensive than comparable items found in garden centers. We have been looking for a watering spike for two years and were never pleased enough to purchase one until now, and very glad we waited.

Quality is there (hasn't bent when inserting into ground). Reservoir is big enough. Only issue is I do not know how many gallons have passed through reservoir in regard to how much fertilizer is in it (too much water or not enough a can burn plant). However, seeing as I have to use a water soluble fertilizer I am not overly concerned.

This deep watering stake does a pretty good job. Be aware that if your ground has clay, a lot of the water will just bubble up the side of the stake to the surface, so you'll have to have your water on pretty low to avoid lots of runoff. The stake seems pretty strong, durable. The fertilizer attachment works great. It's nice that there is an on/off valve built into the unit, makes it very user friendly. I think it is a descent value and recommend it for deep root watering!

Seems to be very high quality with a brass ball valve included. The two pieces of the spike screwed together easily and do not leak. The point on the spike is very sharp. The welds are nice and the stainless steel is highly polished. I would recommend this item. If I could change one thing, it would be to add a section to the spike so I wouldn't have to bend over while using it.

We recently purchased a tree for our front yard. Things were going well until a heat wave hit. No matter how much watering I did the tree was not doing well. I decided to try a deep root spike. It has worked great and the tree is doing great. We have clay so I used a piece of rebar to make a starter hole. I also made multiple holes to water. I run the water on low.

This appears to be a really high quality item. The fit and finish is excellent. The welds look perfect and the polished surface make it almost too pretty to use. This is my third root feeder over 40 years or so and undoubtably the best one. Shaft is half inch or so and much bigger than the two previous feeders. Don't think I will be bending this one. I live in Houston, Texas and our 'soil' is mostly clay which means inserting the feeder is almost like trying to push it through concrete. Taking it slow and pulling it out an inch or so to let the bottom of the hole get water then pushing again is the best method I have found. Most likely, it will outlast me.

I have not had an opportunity to use my deep root feeder yet, however it appears to be a well made quality piece.

Wow! I am so used to crappy Amazon stuff. But this is made in the USA and I am so proud that American products are awesome. Thank you for an amazing tool ! It’s heavy and sturdy and you can tell. It’s just built well and going to last for years!

Great for deep watering for new tree’s or shrubs. Easy to assemble and use.
