I’ve just finished installing a 50m cable, not my first. I’ve spent years doing it so when this cable arrived I immediately noticed a problem which could easily have been resolved at almost no expense. Firstly the cable is excellent quality for domestic purposes so long as you take great care with installation. It’s very tolerant with pulling and twisting and being so thin and narrow it’s easy to tuck under the edges of carpet or round door frames. The supplied cable grips are somewhat oversized but I mostly used self adhesive cable clips. So having over estimated the required length by around 20m (better too long than too short) I was extremely pleased that I bought this cable and it passed all the test after installation. I still have this one and only complaint which I hope the manufacturers will take on board. The cable is wound in a particular way to help, no doubt, with packing. It’s folded in the centre then wound so both terminal ends are together. However, attempting to unwind this length of fine cable ends up in a total tangle. As soon as you release the four wires holding it together the coil collapses which means you cannot unwind it flat. Pulling it apart causes masses of twist. The simplest solution is to fit the cable on a drum/spool so it can be wound out ensuring the cable remains flat. This is standard practice especially when using flat cables. Otherwise a very, very good product.

Cable is very small, handy to go below the door. 50m is not stable at 1000Mbps (got disconnect from my mini pc, used as a solar station). As a workaround I have used a 100 Mbps ethernet switch to force the spped down to 100 Mbps at the routeur at the PC side (a second one is running Bliss OS 14 with Android, there you cannot force the ethernet bit rate to 100 Mbps) , then it is very stable for the remote access.
