This product is not something I would use again
After filing a complaint with Amazon, I had a long conversation with the Seller. He seems like an okay guy and I agreed to remove my original review and post a toned down review. He is concerned for his business and concerned that his customers are satisfied, this much we can agree. We cannot, however agree on the product. The seller feels I did not know what I was buying and his other customers remain happy. My feeling is a review must reflect what the buyer thinks of the product, otherwise what is the point of a buyer review. I do not like the product. It does not look like any product one would encounter in a Garden center (the only reference point for me). The product has an odor that is still with us as of this update. It looks like tires, feels like tires and smells like tires. The other rubber mulch we have does not look like rubber, smell like rubber. It looks like the real thing. The seller feels my original photos were unfair and that anyone could pick out non standard sizes and make it look as if the product was not what he said it is. The 1st point I'd like to make on this is, the size of the product is not indicated anywhere. It is described as pellet mulch. The seller indicates this is a 1" nominal product. We disagree on the amount of product that is 1" in size. In the interest of being fair, I had my wife close her eyes and scoop up 5 random samples from 5 different spots. Please refer to my new photos on the size of the area sampled and the 5 piles of samples. We separated each sample into 2 piles. One of product we felt was 1" or smaller and the other into 1" or larger. We did not use a tape measure nor is one shown in the photos as this seemed to bother the seller. You can be the judge on size and percentage of over sized product. I did notice one thing. Some samples seemed to have more over sized product than others. Perhaps only some of the 63 bags got through quality control. The seller indicates samples are available although this is not indicated on the website. If you plan to buy a ton as I did, I strongly suggest you get a sample. Take a look at the photos and you judge for yourself.

The perfect mulch
Other reviewers notwithstanding, this product is wonderful. I ordered 68 30lb bags (about a ton) and moved them into my orchard. I found the reddish brown color to be so distinctive amidst the lush green lemon trees and white blossoms. And like other reviewers comments, the delivery truck should have had a fork lift as using the hand hydraulic lift on my sloped street nearly caused a disaster. I put down pre-emergent powder, then groundcloth. The rubber mulch tire particles had very little steel, and were larger than the smaller Vigoro 20lb bags one finds at Home Depot; They tend to settle into a shorter thickness and blow a little more. The mulch looks wonderful now two months after placing, and there are absolutely no weeds! I have had no problem with strong winds and rain blowing these larger particles and it is FUN to walk on. Whatever few leaves blow onto the surface turn brown and break down and become invisible. I would not put this mulch under large deciduous trees, however.

Rubber proof
I thoroughly enjoy this product and love the way it looks and adds to my space and landscape. The shipping was a little slow and the delivery guy almost sent the pallet toppling as he unloaded it. It is 2200 pounds though. They could wrap and ship it better for the price that you are paying for this item. Maybe a better pallet or some extra wraps with the plastic that binds the bags. Also maybe a forklift not a pallet jack delivery system for ease and smooth handling.

Easy to work with.
Nice deep red color. Does have an odor but hoping it will go away over time. Looks more like nuggets than the shredded mulch. That did not bother us. Shipping - was delivered outside of the delivery dates provided. Will update the review after we've had it for awhile to see how it weathers, etc.

Not worth the cost- I'm disappointed to say...
We were initially excited about this product- especially after reading the good reviews. We are away for 6 months at a time and when we would come back, our planters would be overgrown with weeds- so we invested in all the promises made by the rubber mulch. Initially, it worked better than organic mulch- our planters had almost no weeds after we came back 6 months later... but since then, the weeds have taken the advantage again, just like when we had regular mulch. More importantly, we cannot get our bush clippings or oak leaves out of the planters without also having the rubber mulch come out too- and it gets thrown away with the leaves and branches- unless you want to spend hours sitting near the ground picking all the little pieces of rubber out of your raked piles before bagging... which we don't. We tried to blow the leaves out (like is promised you can do), but the mulch comes right out with the leaves. This mulch was so expensive that I refer to each piece of rubber as "a quarter" (25 cents)- so now we joke that we throw away A LOT of quarters everytime we clean out the planters :( We cannot recommend this product for these reasons. It wasn't worth the exorbitant price over regular mulch since you inevitably end up throwing so much of it away with your trimmings and leaves. After only 2 years, it's no better than using regular mulch for weed control. We're disappointed- we had high hopes.

We have the best yard in the cul-de-sac!
Covered almost our entire front yard. Inexpensive in the long run compared to regular bark. Shipping was a hassle. Came on 1 pallet, should have come on 2 or 3. Overall extremely satisfied with its aesthetic appeal!

looks great but DOES blow away
looks real nice but wet mulch gets heavy and doesn't blow away, rubber mulch doesn't hold water and then blows away
