Three days in-My cat is still wearing this collar-which is a good thing. Charlie has been destroying collars at a rate oftwo days to a week per collar ( we are on the fifth collar). What I like : the collar has a bit of elastic which shouldprovide a measure of safety. He is tolerating this collar which indicates a measure of comfort. The plasticfasteners are worrisome. They don't appear sturdy. Taking a wait and see approach. Will update this review at a later date.

Update* after a week or so of wearing, collar has worn away my cats fur. I had it loose enough to fit two fingers in collar around his neck. My other cat developed a sore. This is probably better for cats with thin hair.Either I can’t pull it apart or this isn’t a true breakaway collar. I thought the Circle by the D ring was a snap that came undone if caught, thus being a breakaway, but it won’t budge. The elastic is very flexible but if an animal were caught hanging that wouldn’t help much. I can’t speak to durability yet but it looks well made. I’m a little disappointed about it not being a real breakaway though.

This product would be five-star if the makers would fix a couple of things that have been mentioned by other reviewers. The buckle is of very poor quality as the plastic prong that goes through the hole to fasten the collar is very flimsy. And the loop that is supposed to hold down the end of the collar is not in the right place to catch it - I had to just cut the extra length off the collar because it would not stay under the loop and my cat wanted to chew on protruding length. Now of course I won't be able to expand the collar and it probably won't hold up well because it now has a raw end where I had to cut through the stitchingI hope the manufacturers will spend a few more cents to improve this product -

Our cat usually scratches her neck and ruins her collar with her back claws. We decided to go with a leather collar to see if this would stand up better to neck scratching. It has worked. The collar is withstanding the claws well and still looks great.

Update: it’s been two weeks and both cats have been doing really well. Not as much scratching as at their previous snap away collars. Haven’t removed them even though I keep them quite loose that they could if they really tried. Best of all no hair loss! The colors are rich and beautiful!Original review: Got this collar bc her previous one kept pulling out her neck hair around the breakaway collar and she found it itchy to wear. So far so good with this one. We did give her a few months off to regrow her hair so we can tell if this product is doing the same thing. But she doesn’t seem to be itching at it very much at all and it looks beautiful on her! The bell is somewhat annoying but needed bc without it she is a stealth mode cat trying to sneak outside. She would literally get beaten up by just about any other cat so to avoid that vet bill I’d rather hear her sneaking up on me at the door.
