Excellent mask for cleaning — no more strong chemical smells!
I got the BASE CAMP M Plus Dust Mask mainly for cleaning days at home, to avoid breathing in the smell of Clorox and other cleaning liquids—and it’s been amazing. The difference was noticeable right away: I can clean for a long time without that harsh chemical smell bothering me. The mask fits securely but still feels comfortable and breathable. The adjustable straps and nose clip help it stay perfectly in place while I move around. I also appreciate that it comes with 6 activated carbon filters, which makes it last a long time and keeps the air feeling fresh. It’s well made, easy to wear, and truly effective for blocking odors and dust. ⭐ Honest opinion: Super useful and comfortable for cleaning, dusting, or any task where you want to avoid strong smells. Totally worth it!

Good quality and comfortable... LOVE IT!
LOVE THIS MASK! This mask is the new version that replaces the one Basecamp sold prior to 2020. I had picked up the original style for mowing the yard (pollen allergies). It was perfect when the pandemic started. However soon after things escalated you could not longer get these masks nor the authentic basecamp filters. I had enough to make it through till this new style was available. I was so pleased with original mask that I bought this new version as soon as saw it was available. I have recommended it to many co-workers. I have to wear a mask at work when around others. I have worn it for hours on end and it remains comfortable the whole time and causes ZERO sore spots. I have even worn it to the junkyard for emergency parts pulling and it was not too hot. The adjustable bendable nose piece allows you to get a good seal. I have even perfected wearing glasses without fogging them up! :) This mask is breathable and does not trap alot of heat. Yes you still get a bit of humidity build up, but its a negligible. The vents do their job perfect. [I would recommend that if you are ever around anyone who is super high risk that you might get those cheap thin surgery masks to layer over the vents to offer them better protection, (like my 105 year old Grams)] This mask is a great fit and does not slide about like many of the other masks. It offers ear loops & an adjustable strap that goes around to the back of your head. This mask is unique in that way and allows a ton of adjustability. Once you get it fitted you do not have to fiddle with it at all! :) My only issue is that I have a small head. ( 6 & 3/4 hat size.) I wear youth hats. Any adjustable adult hat always covers my ears & the one size fits all falls off if I turn my head fast. LOL. So I made alterations to the mask to make it a wee bit smaller when I got it. Please check out my pictures to see how it did it. Before I would have the mask fitted to my face and wrap the head strap, but the Velcro would overlap so far it would not adhere. With my adjustment I get a perfect line up with the Velcro now. I am very pleased with the mask and highly recommend them. I bought one for me, my mother and 105 year old Grandmother. Everyone is super excited with their mask! Thank you BaseCamp!

Yes, A Better Quality Mask but Not a Five Star
The size and fitting is probably the only possible issue here. "One size fits all" is not true for this product. There's no option to buy various sizes and they don't accept returns if the product has been opened. The buyer needs to be aware of that. Read the fine print. The materials and construction are fine. The Velcro strap around the neck is a good idea to keep the fit tight around your nose and mouth. The ear "loops" fit relatively loose, so your ears won't look wonky. This does "tuck" under by chin. The overall seal is pretty good. While I wouldn't want to wear them for long periods (hours) at a time, these are not uncomfortable. (Though comfort is sure to be a subjective thing.) When you speak with this on, your voice is considerably muffled, and you will need to speak louder. As for the "nose piece" keeping your glasses from fogging up, good luck with that, though they are better at that than the cheaper masks you can buy. Chances are you won't get that tight a fit in the nose/cheek area. It occurred to me that if your breath can get out of the mask (to fog your glasses) then the outside air can also be inhaled through the same gap. Just saying ... Still better than the cheap disposable masks most people wear. If you are wearing this for pollen (allergies), depending on how long you are outdoors wearing this (and how long your allergy season is), the replaceable filter is supposed to last 50-60 hours of use. For the average person doing occasional yard work, walking the dog, or pushing your grandchild in a stroller around the block this should meet your needs and not need to be replaced for a considerable time. I wish that info was included with the product information. If you are doing industrial- type work regularly the filters won't last as long as they do for allergies. I wear mine for seasonal allergies. I live in one of the top 10 cities in the states for allergies. On moderately high, high and severe pollen alert days this mask will help. I am currently on an antibiotic and steroids, trying to avoid bronchitis. Looking la bit like Darth Vader is less daunting than dealing with constant drainage, runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing and a chronic cough. I've not had this mask long, (a few days), if I don't note an improvement, I'll be back to edit this. Some options in colors might be nice. Something other than or besides black. Fortunately, after Covid, most people don't seem to stare at people's masks anymore, but this one does stand out more than most.

Works great, straps too long for me
I do paint and body work, powdercoating, and have a woodworking hobby and I have Hypersensitivity Pneumosis so my lungs are extremely sensitive to contamination. I've recently discovered that when I have exposure I get sick fur several days. I've been on the lookout for a good dust mask for daily use so I decided to try these. The mask did everything it advertised beyond my expectations. I put the mask on as soon as it was delivered and did some powdercoating, no reaction. I then sanded and prepped a fender, no reaction. It just proved itself there, I was sold. But then while painting that fender I forgot what mask I had on and went straight into painting and clearcoat. A small fender doesn't make too much over spray with the exhaust fan on so I didn't even smell the paint, I was on the second coat of clearcoat when I could start to smell it but still no reaction from my lungs. I destroyed the filter and probably the mask but I was impressed that it suppressed the odor that much. Never ever should you ever in a million zillion years use this mask to paint a car but I would trust it for everything up to that point. My only con is that the straps are too long for my head, I'm going to order the same type from another supplier that is advertised as being smaller but this one would be perfect if put on a few pounds, once I stave my long beard they will definitely not fit. I gave 5 stars because it was truthfully advertised and works great.

MASK and FILTER PERFORMANCE & FYIs
I looked at many of the dual port masks on Amazon; went over the reviews and the number of them. Most import. I looked at the MFG claims, 'English', timeliness of shipping, and response to an issue. All of these were excellent, either by review or personal experience. I also spent a great deal of time reviewing replacement filters. I found cheaper replacements, but none seemed to have the same quality. Of course both evaluations are purely subjective and 'marketing'. I do have >11 years in the field of Environmental, Health & Safety and another 20 years of Federal Service involving Product Assurance, Design ....So. without sophisticated laboratory equipment to evaluate a product, one 'rolls the dice, and takes a chance'. I chose this manufacturer. After using the product three times now for 2-4 hours continuously I can say that the fit and seal were very good; nose clearance to mask, very good; ease of taking a breath, while holding palms over 'exhaust' ports, excellent; ease of breathing out very good. I did find that I had to adjust the back strap 2-3 times to find the best position for ease of head movement. Even when loose the seal remained very good. One mask had a manufacturing problem when the package was opened. This is something that the Seamstress or Quality Assurance Inspection should have caught. I contacted the seller. In approximately 48 hours I had a replacement. This is excellent response and Turn-Around. To 'cut' the Mfg some slack, even in the very best "ISO-" Facilities errors do happen, though very rarely. Since I don't know what their Defect Rates are or Returns are, they get a PASS, and Excellent Customer Service. The only problem IS NOT PRODUCT related. If you place on going to any Medical Office or Facility. DO NOT WEAR it. As soon as I entered the building, while having my temperature scanned, I was instructed to remove it, because the exhaust air is not filtered. I said I was unable to get any seal with a disposal mask (blue type), any kind. The response was they cannot permit the use of any mask that has ports, even if the ports are "PM 2.5" filtered since they are not approved for medical use. So, I asked what about me breathing and exhaulting unfiltered air? They said they wete sorry. I asked if I could wear the Blue Mask under my mask???? No, I'm sorry. In the non-hospital complex, I saw all kinds of "filtering devices" being used, from "Scarf" types [filters ~57% of I/E air] to Hospital approved 'fitted masks [filters ~87% I/E air]. So far, this type mask appears to be the best mask out there as long as: THE WEARER MUST BE/IS VIRUS/BACTERIA FREE TO USE AN UNFILTERED EXHAUST MASK for the welfare and safety of others. My bottom line - Great product so far. And, I will wear an "unfiltered N95 or N99 mask when going to any medical building of hospital. (Note: In one instance even that was not good enough. I had to throw this type mask fo a "blue mask". Their reason, (A valid one), they did not know where, how many times used, or 'cleanliness' of hands when touching it. This mask and THEIR filters get a 5 & 5.

Not the greatest fit..
Doesn't fit the greatest, it wants to drop all the time. The ear loops are huge and too far back. I will need to modify them. The straps sit too low around the back of my head with no way to adjust it. The strap should come off the top side of the rear end of the mask allowing the strap to sit or go over the ears. If there are smaller sizes, they should include those options in this listing. I spent 3-5 minutes looking for an option to select a smaller mask. That is too long for most of us.

WELL MADE!
Better fitting, functional mask. Because this has a neck strap, it holds the mask in place and helps with that annoying glass fogging that occurs with normal designs. My husband wears this when he is smoking meats or leaf blowing or doing dusty projects. With removable and replaceable filters, this mask is very very useful.

Poor design
I had purchased this mask for yard work to filter out any dust. I liked the idea of the mask having ports when a person exhale so as not to fog up glasses or safety glasses. It sounds like the perfect product right? Well, in theory it sounds great, but in actuality it misses the mark. I read the directions that came with the mast regarding proper fit and replacing the filter. The fit is a little tricky, I would recommend putting the loops around the ears first then adjusting the strap around the neck. Do not set the strap around the neck too tight or the loops may come off around your ears. The mask has an "adjustable" nose piece. The nose piece is a flexible plastic and there is nothing adjustable about it. When I wore safety glasses they fogged up on exhaling my first breath. I decided to remove the filter and see if there might be an issue with the ports. Upon removing the ports there is a thin rubber diaphragm on the inside and if you do not install it correctly air will not exit the mask. It is a juggling act trying to get both the inside part and outside part of the port while sandwiching the mask and filter between them. If you do manage to get all the parts aligned and twist the port to lock, the filter gets twisting around the inside portion of the port. I ended up using the mask without wearing glasses for about two hours. The inside of the filter was damp borderline wet. That leads me to believe the ports do not work effectively. If you have heard the adage "You get what you pay for", it is 100% true.
