3M Mounting Tapes (MMM854)

These work wonderfully for use on plastic/acrylic/wood/metal frames - but success may be based on wall fabric fuzziness.I've had the issue of trying to hang plaques on cube walls for years, and was looking for a replacement for my existing method that relied on the ability to install a wire hanging system to the back of the frames/plaques that could be draped over the top clip/hook of a fabric wall mounting clip (and would thus concentrate all of the weight on that one clip).Reading the reviews of success and failure form folks, I took a chance and can report that a substantial acrylic body plaque of about 8x11 size is holding solidly to the wall with the 8 squares (2 in each corner), pressed it into the fabric, jiggled a bit twistingly to seat while pressing into the wall fabric, then pushed down a bit to ensure seating. Hold appears very strong. Now its in the 'will it stay there for weeks or more' test that will test not only the hook side that latches to the fabric, but also the adhesive backs adhering to the smooth acrylic plastic back of the plaque long term. I'm confident, as the adhesive seems to be good quality, but only time will tell. If the plaque falls down in the next year, I'll update my review accordingly.What I suspect, but cannot verify, is that the success or failure depends (assuming one follows the usage and mounting instructions) on the nature of the wall fabric. My cube walls are a rather smooth but coarse knit fabric from the past decade. Photo attached to show the fabric type I can confirm it works on. I can imagine, as I've seen other cube wall fabrics) that some coarser and more fuzzy fabrics may not allow the same level of the hooks of the squares solidly engaging with the fabric on the wall and that such cases might not hold as solidly.But you have to have1) a flat back on what you are mounting,2) use enough squares - 8 in my case for a plaque, if its heavier than 2.5 lbs add more squares3) the squares adhere solidly to the flat back4) the squares hook surface is then firmly pressed into the fabric wall material, twisted a bit to engage it and you push down a bit to make sure its 'taken' to the fabric.That said, there can possibly be fabric wall coverings this hook system does not engage with well.

I bought these in order to stick decorations in my fabric covered cubicle. I liked that it was already pre-cut and ready to use. I cannot speak to how heavy of an object it can carry because most of the decorations I had were pretty light. My decorations were able to stay on the fabric wall pretty well without falling! I loved that using this, I was able to spice up my little cubicle without damaging the fabrics.

These things are a lifesaver. I got moved to a different cubicle at work and went from having real walls to having all cloth. I couldn't get anything to work until I found these; my CTO even tried getting me the regular Velcro strips but it wouldn't work. These don't hold things super STURDILY, like, I wouldn't put them in a place that will see a lot of touching or something. But if you affix enough of them to the back of the object, press firmly from the front over all those points, and then GENTLY drag downwards a tiny bit, it bites into the cloth enough. I currently have 19 pieces of art up in my cube using these (the three largest pieces in my pics are also helped by a picture wire hung over the pointy cloth clip things every office has).

I used these to mount a medium stock paper certificate I have and it's holding, but I feel like any day they will fall off the wall because it's not sitting flush. Maybe I'm being paranoid. I had to use a number of the squares to get the certificate to stick, and I assume it's more to do with the type of fabric on the walls of my cube than the fabric wall squares, but that's hard to say. They seem to work ok, don't use them for heavy paper though unless you use an army of them! :)

I wanted to use these to hang up pictures in my cubicle that has a cloth wall but hey don't stick. Has previously worked on cubicle walls in previous positions - my new cubicle has a slightly different cloth material so it doesn't work quite that well. I have the cube walls that you cannot push a tack in and these do not work well. When I had cube walls where I could use thumb tacks, these worked great.

These are fantastic for mounting things cleanly on a cubicle wall. However, the product I received isn't exactly this product. The product I received are the permanent mounting squares, not the removable mounting squares. It seems the removable ones may have been discontinued (I couldn't find them on the Scotch website), so I may be out of luck.

Wanted a fairly permanent, heavy mount to hold up small pictures, tuck a power cord out of the way. These can’t bear any weight. Bad part? When they came off, some paint came with them....

The title on this item is very misleading. I thought I was getting a "3-pack". The company instead only shipped me one package (with 35 mounting squares).The product itself is awesome (and the other reviewer who gave a poor review of the product is just plain wrong). However, the company purveying this product is dishonest. You only get one pack. At $9.36, the one pack you get is a rip-off. If you can find the product at Staples or Office Depot, it would only be about $4.00. My problem is that my local big box stores inexplicably don't carry this product.
