This lid is not transparent. If you want to see your meal, you have to remove it or look through the sides. But I knew that going in, so I don't see it as a downside. What it does do is fit perfectly, both to the Rubbermaid container and the Joule sous vide cooker. It holds the heat in, prevents evaporation, and keeps other kitchen activities from getting junk in your water bath (and your cooker). If you're using a Joule and the Rubbermaid container, this works perfectly with the LIPAVI Sous Vide rack model L10.

I purchased this lid a while ago and just had an opportunity to use it. It's great! Fits perfectly on the food storage container with the Joule allowing the Joule to work. Did not appear that I had any loss of water in the container, even though I ran the sous vide for 15 hours. Really glad I purchased this.

1, Your Joule DOES NOT NEED TO EXTEND TO THE BOTTOM, you all realize that the pump will bring the water up from those 1" of space right? If you wanted to clip it to the very top of the clip then the gap would be too big. 2. The lid limits evaporation and heat loss for the most part. It's not there to keep your food clean. Wrap a bath towel around your Rubbermaid container (or get a neoprene glove) and one over the top and you'll keep more of the heat in and reduce energy costs (and coil wear). I use old towels, so no extra costs like buying those silicon floating balls. --- So, the lid is well made and fits well. I have no issues with it.

This lid is made specifically for the Joule. It fits the Rubbermaid container perfectly, and the Joule sous vide. It was easy to add food when temp reached, and eliminates the worry of evaporation during cooking. Definitely 5 stars. I very much like the way the lid can be slipped on and off. Makes adding food, and clipping much easier.

Joule Sous Vide Lid for Rubbermaid Containers worked great on my first 12 hour cook in the 18qt Rubbermaid container. The fit, seal and quality are excellent. There was no noticeable water evaporation during this cook.

At first I thought it was great! Out of the box, it fit nice and tight, which kept all of the moisture inside. I went to use it two days later and wow... it warped and shrunk something fierce. I can get two corners on now and that's it. One cook and it's worthless... I wouldn't avoid this, I'd run from it. Total waste of my money.

I bought this lid, and I also bought a 2-pack of "plain" lids for $8.99. The lid with a hole cut in it is nice, but I didn't realize how flexible the lids are and how easy it would have been for me to just cut a hole in one of the 2 lids I bought. I'm not going to return it as it works just fine, but I would recommend making one yourself if you are even slightly handy.

Unlike the other brand, this one actually fits my rubbermaid container. Good solid lid and cleans easily. It's perfect for my Jewel Sous Vide

This lid is perfect in combination with the container I bought. Sous vide cooking is an amazing process and the meat is perfect every time! This lid holds the appliance (cooking thermometer) in place and I will definitely recommend this to friends and family who enjoy the sous vide technique!

Fits the container well, however the hole for the immersion circulator is slightly off if you fully clip it onto the side of the container. Overall it does a great job at holding in the heat and making the cooking more efficient. I recommend the product maybe with a few little adjustments to the way you use it

It works on my 22 quart. I did have to alter the opening for my sqare shaped sous vide. It fits snug at first, but loosens up a little once hot. Its to be expected. Would recommend.

Almost zero evaporation of the water over a 20 hour cooking period - didn't have to top it up once! Fits snugly with the Joule. Highly recommended for anyone planning to use their sous vide over a longer period of time.

Lid have no hall for to install a Sous Vide to the box. I have to do this my self.
