Inexpensive, practical, quick
I use with Omega One Goldfish Small Pellets 8oz for my goldfish on a 40 gallon breeder tank and it couldn't be easier.+ The best part is the programming. No clock, no menus, just install batteries and press once for 12hrs, twice for 24hrs. Set it and forget it.+ Price point is better than comparable models+ Compact design, no extra bulkiness in the housing- The drum is a little tricky to twist on/off the tabs that hold it on the disk, be patient and careful.- Limited to 2 timer settings if your fish have a complex feeding schedule- Included AAA batteries seemed to be already low, put in some fresh ones before the "forget it" part just to be safe. Many feeders use the similar drum design but are over-sized and clunky. I find myself unable to use those ones in the custom canopy I built for my tank. Unless you are feeding a whole Koi pond for a month, this 2" drum will do.

Test it well before your vacation to verify it is set correctly to dispense at the time you want and the quantity.
No way to tell if it is set correctly - you have to have faith that it will dispense in 12 or 24 hours, depending on the setting. Large capacity but mine was empty by the time I returned home after 3 days...Guess I had it set to dispense too much. Fish survived the over-feeding - my fault not the product.

Good for short periods
It works. I like that it has a few extra timing options over the cheaper ones & still doesn't break the bank. Pretty forgiving mounting option, fits a good range of widths yet still allows a little wiggle room to mount it high enough to keep it from dipping itself in the water when it rotates.Others have mentioned the inside getting wet. I didn't see how that could happen, since it never touched the water when it ran, but evaporation/condensation must get inside somehow. It worked well enough and stayed dry when I used it for a 3 day vacation - came back and everything was dry, so I figured I'd let it continue running. I probably left it a week before I checked on it again and the inside was wet.. the food was soaked and I have no words for the SMELL of the wet food that came out of that container when I took it off the feeder. I'm certain I peeled the paint off walls in two block radius. So, it's good for a few days if you're away but I wouldn't depend on it much longer than that.

Cannot be used with flake food even though it is pictured with such. Does not fit over any opening on normal tank lid. You will have to take lid off or cut plastic out yourself to fit. It only lights up for a moment when you try to use the 24 hour or 12 hour setting, there is no way to know if it is really set unless I time it just right to be with it when it goes off 12-24 hours later. Lets moisture into food. Door to food does not open every time, its like it gets vacuumed to the container or maybe the plastic just fits barely snug enough to be too tight to release.

Smelly Tank No Thanks To You!
It works, I guess. But you can't control the amount of food precisely enough for just one fish. I just got back from a trip to find a rotting tank because it dumps way too much food in for my one fish. Only recommend if you'd be using it for a bigger tank with quite a few fish.

Simple and functional. Keeps fish fed with no frills
Simple design and operation; Press the Manual button to feed now, press the Auto button to feed now and then either 24 or 12 hours from now. The drum rotates, allowing the specified amount of food to slide out of the hinged opening. Requires lots of tinkering, especially if you mix or switch between pellets and flakes. Better to grab one for each food type and not fuss with the setting. The drum is tightly secured on the main body; if you pull too hard it'll fall apart (happened twice when i first got it). Battery life is pretty good since there is no screen to keep on; been using the two AAA batteries for almost 30 days, with about 3 months of no use and it still runs well. Recommend!

Use the right kind of fish food
Wanted this to feed the fish while we were on holiday. It worked as described. You can feed the fish once a day or twice a day depending on the setting. It rotates twice every 12 hours or once every 24 hours. You control the portion by a little slider that opens or closes depending on how much you want to feed the fish. The challenge might be if you use flakes versus pellets. Small pellets seem to work great. Don't know about flakes. I think flakes may get hung-up in the rotating drum. Interested to hear what others have to say.

Bought for vacation. Putting it on the shortest Amt didn’t feed my fish at all and the other next amt was over feeding. But the timer works well. Had to improvise on how it could open to the tank. But it worked while I was on vacation and my beta was still alive even though I had to clean his tank again
