Bachmann track works well
I was looking to expand my train layout and needed more track. I chose the silver because the track requires less maintenance. The switch allows for more options. It can sometimes need a little management as the switch has thin metal that moves and can bend. A track layout sometimes takes time and I am aware of that. The product is a good one and I am happy with my purchase.

Well made. Easy to install/connect
Well made. Easy to install/connect. cable is a good length, but for larger layouts, consider using an extension cable. Would buy again.

Typical Bachmann low quality
Like many Bachman products, it comes with problems out of the box. Someone must have accidentally drug their soldering iron across the plastic part of the roadbed and melted it onto the wires that control the turnout. Not great quality control, and while the quality of the silver track with the gray road bed is slightly better than that with the steel track and the black road bed, it's still hit or miss with quality control with Bachman. I can't recommend using their system because you're stuck with their system. It may be more difficult to set up initially, but more generic snap track is probably a better way to go. They're trying to make Bachman EZ track into more of a toy that's easy to assemble, and that's almost what it is, just a toy.

They derail everything
The media could not be loaded. Bachmann EZ track turnouts are absolutely awful, the flanges derail everything that goes over them. They don't always line up properly when powered, and considering the price they should not be this bad. Bachmann trains are great for starting out in the hobby, but don't stick with their track. Funny enough, when I went to record the video for the review, the train kept stalling because the track has sections with power drops. I'm definitely switching to Kato for tracks.
