Over The Garden Wall Vol. 1 (1) (Over the Garden Wall, 1) Paperback – March 28, 2017

I've been waiting for this book ever since Christmas. I must say it was worth the wait. I read it all in one sitting, and enjoyed every minute of it. The drawings were wonderful, and the characters were wonderfully entertaining as usual. If you enjoy comic books you should definitely give this a good look through.

It's probably impossible to disappoint me with 'Over the Garden Wall'. The art, the story, the characters are all so beautifully done to me and I can't wait to read more, particularly of Anna's storyline.

Since I loved the miniseries, I adored this comic companion as well. Not quite what I was expecting, but I still very much enjoyed it.

In this continuation of the two brothers' journey, Greg finds a way back into the Unknown with his frog's (AKA Jason Funderberker) help. He goes on a quest to find the mysterious long-lost hero of the mole kingdom. He helps nut gathering squirrels, lazy beavers, and a brew making witch along the way. I think more is to come of the brother's quest for this hero. The second half deals with Anna handling her father's disappearance. She begins to question if the woods is as dangerous as she thinks; and whether she should connect with other people who lose themselves to wandering in the woods. Albeit that latter half got a bit lengthy, but I understand it shows how Anna goes from being a frightened child to a young woman venturing out into the world to "live" her life (versus just surviving in the isolated cabin). Overall, an interesting read on adventures not covered or looked at in the TV series.
