Marcy Multi-Position Adjustable Utility Bench for Home Gym Weightlifting and Strength Training

I was looking for a cheap bench to use for dumbell exercises. I tried Craigslist and found plenty of ugly, old, flat benches wrapped in duct tape there. They were all under $100 and would have been barely adequate. I was hoping for a bench with a reclining support for different exercises and found a nice Bowflex bench at Dicks sporting goods for about $170. That was out of my budget. Lucky for me, I stumbled upon this Marcy bench. It has all the features of the Dick's bench, but only cost me as much as a junky old craigslist bench! Assembly was pretty easy and the instructions were good. The bench os very stable and comfortable to use. The mechanism for adjusting the bench angle is very solid. The bench material is comfortable and seems pretty durable. I can easily push the bench against a wall when it is not in use. There are comfortable knee and foot supports for doing sit-ups and you can even drop the bench lower than horizontal for Roman Chair sit-ups. We are very happy with the quality and the price!

After hours of browsing for benches I decided to buy this one. I was going to get a more expensive one to match my revolution but decided that this didn't look too bad and was a reasonable price . I was unsure at first as I bought one a year ago nearly same price and it was quite unstable and would rock from side to side when moved on. It took me about 20 minutes to put together, the frame is pretty solid and sturdy . I did have a bolt that didn't want to go in but with a lil jiggling it went in. I'm pretty pleased with it, no rocking from side to side when I move and it's pretty sturdy , I know I stepped up on it to test it, I am 140 lbs at 5 ft 9.5 and didnt move. I'm pleased at it for the price of It and the quality you cant go wrong to get fit and build some muscle

If you are considering this bench, it is most likely because of the folding feature. If it is, then this is a good bench for you. It would be nice if it folded flatter than it does, but it is good enough to make it easy to fold up and put it up right to stow against a wall or in a closet. With the folding feature, you will compromise some things with this bench. For one, price. You could get a non-folding bench for cheaper, but again, the reason you are looking at this is probably because it folds. The second thing is sturdiness. I use mainly with dumbbells and not really heavy at that and the bench works perfectly fine. It is stable and doesn't move or slide on my hardwood floors. It is also a good balance between construct and portability. Making it with thicker metal would mean more weight which would add to the difficulty to store and move around. If you do lift heavy weights, then you probably want a more heavy duty bench and should be looking at a folding bench at that. Assembly was easy and pretty darn clear. All the nuts, screws and bolts are vacuum sealed on to a cardboard and labeled so you know exactly which parts are need for each step in the instructions. One suggestion, assemble everything, but don't make everything real tight. Sit and lay on it to get things to work into position, then tighten everything down. This will prevent the feet from being uneven and unstable. Another recommendation is DON'T over tighten - especially when anchoring the seating to the frame or you will strip the board material and now you've just ruined the stability of the bench. You're probably thinking, "yeah, that's common sense." but hey just saying. . . Anyway, I am perfectly happy with this bench for my use and i don't have to have a room in my house look like its always a gym. I recommend this to those that feel that same about their equipment.

This is a great little weight bench that didn’t break the bank. Assembly was easy using basic hand tools, but do yourself a favor and grab something ratcheting (box wrench or a socket wrench) to make the task easier. The bench seat is comfortable and as you can see from the pictures very versatile. I haven't tried it for declines yet, but it's good to know this bench is there for me when I'm ready. Contrary to what other reviewers have stated, I find this bench to be very, very stable. I'm 5' 8", 225 and I can sit on this bench with weights in hand, shake side to side, and not move the bench at all. It's planted that firmly. One final rave is this benches ability to fold (not flat, but flatish?) for storage. It fits nicely in the dead space between the treadmill and the wall as you can see in the picture.

I ordered this bench because it seemed like a noce setup for a reasonable price. I feel many others did as well. I am totally happy with its performance. Took arpund 30 min to get together (a little easier with 2 people). Pieces were labeled and easy to find. I am around 207 and use anywhere from 25-75 pounds worth of weights. Ive never felt like it would dump me. Leg pads are thick and comfortable. Easy to fold up and put away. Nice product. If i had to complain about something, the gap between the top and bottom seat when flat is a little wide (for me). Im sure its the design of it being adjustable. Recommemded if you are on a budget.

I looked around for a weight bench for a while before stumbling on this one. The order said it would be available in a week and it was delivered on time. The assembly took less than 30 minutes, and it can be easily done, if you follow the instructions that comes along. I'm really happy with the quality, stability and sturdiness of the bench. The cushioning is firm, but I personally am ok with it. I do like the foot rest bar that came with it. It definitely adds more comfort to using this bench. All in all 5 stars.

Plan on spending at least a half hour putting this bench together and follow the manual totally to the T. All the screws and bolts are provided, however do not lose any of them or you may have to add more time putting this bench together by going to the hardware store for that one bolt or screw. Once together, this bench has been very sturdy for me and it is easy to fold up and put away. I weigh 160 and the bench doesn't wobble at all when I use my 50 pound dumbbells, the bench is supposed to be able to suppor up to 300 lbs. total.

Love this bench. Took a while to assemble but the instructions were straight forward. It’s quite sturdy . I’m about 145 lbs and I do weighted step ups on it and also use it for weighted hip thrusts and it doesn’t shake or feel like it’s going to break. Great addition to my at home gym.

Buen producto calidad y confort similar a los de un gym, fácil de armar, no tan incomodó para guardar, se nota resistente y siente bien. Los ángulos son correctos; mido 1.70 mts y respaldo me queda bien si mides mas de 1.80 olvídalo!!!! La paquetería tardó demasiado aunque cumplió con lo q prometió pero el tiempo considero excedente.

Buen banco, es ligero para mover de lugar pero a la vez resistente
