Overall quality and design is UNDERSTATED, hands down one of the best units I have ever owned.
Outstanding generator. We use this as a light weigh portable unit, fully filled with oil and gas its 30 lbs. Generator starts easily, runs quiet and sips gas. Carries its full rated load even handles surge without any issue (1600 watts). Highly suggest using Mobil 1 0w40, ran it for 2 hours and flushed the oil, ran it for 3 hours and flushed the oil. Definitely needs the break-in flushes. After the second flush oil stayed clean and handles full load without struggling. Economy mode drops the noise level by probably half, ideal for battery charging or where you're not needing its full output. I was extremely impressed at how they built in access to all the service areas on the generator. Absolutely designed with easy servicing in mind! Oil changes, spark plug and other areas all have quick access panels making routing serving not only easy, but require no additional tools. It comes with a filler spout that hides inside the generator for oil fills and changes. Another nice feature is the gas tank vent shut-off. This eliminates the worries about spills, but also closes off the tank for keeping gas fresh. For storage, the service access panels allow easy access to the carburetor drain, Also, there is a fuel shut-off valve to run the carb dry for storage to avoid gummed up carbs and no starts when you need it most. Overall its a solid 12 out of a10 in terms of quality, design, function and far exceeded my expectations. We purchased two of these, one is used for our airplane (preheaters) and for our Son and his detaling business powering buffers and lighting.

Better than expected.
75 hrs in and this thing has been a life saver. I bought it as a just in case for a trip we were taking our camper on to run the A/C and charge the batteries because we didnt know if there would be a power hook-up, since our campers A/C unit only uses ~500 watts the GM1200i was the perfect size. The morning that the generator was set to arrive a plane took out some power lines leaving us without power and to make things better it was the hottest day of the year. The generator showed up about 1PM and I spent the next couple hours doing a break in of it. 1hr zero load, oil change, 1 hr 25-50% load, oil change, and then 1 hour 50-75% load and then an oil change. That was perfect timing as it was getting to the hottest part of the day when we could plug in the camper and use the camper AC and watch some TV to cool down and this generator did perfect. We did have it at about 900w for about 30 min while the camper batteries recharged and we ran the AC and the TV but once the batteries charged we went back down to about 550w and it ran all night until ~4 am when the power was restored. We did also end up needing it on our trip and we ran it at night and for an hour or so and during the day when we had to plug in laptops and such to do a little work and this generator handled it like a champ. It is very quite as we are unable to hear it in the camper even when it is just out side of the door, we even had someone stop by and comment one of the times we were running it during the day and about how quite it was even under 50-60% load. This generator is also really good on gas for the entire week we were out we only used right about 4gal of gas ( 4 of the 8 nights we just used to charge the batteries to run the inverter since it cooled off and we didnt need the AC at night). When we got there we had about 14hrs on it and we left with 74 hrs so that is about 15hrs on a gallon of gas at 25-60% load. The only con I have about this generator is that the plastic access panel for the air filter is very loose and will fall off while running, I put tape over the clips to hold them it just it was be nice if the clips were spread just a little bigger so they would catch better. TDLR: Very quite, does it job very well and it very fuel efficient. I do recommend doing some kind of break in process on it as the first 4 oil changes did have a good amount of glitter in the oil but by the 4th oil change it looked normal. I personally did oil changes every hour for the first 3 hours and then about every 25 hours after that. If you need a small generator to run lighter loads I don't think you can go wrong with this one.

Great little generator.
Great little generator for the money. I bought this specifically to recharge batteries on my boat when I go places where I will leave my boat docked and the dock doesn't have electricity. Lightweight, starts easy and in eco mode it is amazingly quite and its barely audible 30 -40 feet away so its not annoying to people on shore.

No support from Amazon or Manufacturer
My Genmax 1200i was delivered yesterday. The packaging was in good condition. The generator was securely packed. Everything was in the box that was listed. I added oil and gas. It started I believe on the 3rd pull. Ran great with the eco on and off. Plugged in some test devices. It shut off after about an hr. Checked the oil- good. Checked the gas- good. Made sure the gas was turned on, I'm old, I forget lol. Started right up. Would run 15 min - 2 hrs and shut off. Contacted Amazon for product support. They referred me to the manufacturer after some stupid unrelated questions from their customer service. Contacted the manufacturer. Waiting........... I will update when or if anyone gets back to me. Right now I suggest you not buy a generator from Amazon. They don't care. Update: Still no response from manufacturer. I have not been able to talk to a live person, only leave messages. Update: It's been 4 days I didn't hear from the manufacturer. Called Amazon again 1st person transferred me, 2nd hung up after telling me nothing they could do. I called back, transferred. I was given a different number for the manufacturer. I finally got a real person. They are going to send me a new CO sensor. Nothing as of today. I guess I'm on my own. Received nothing. 3/26/2024 I suggest no one buy a generator from Amazon. They don't allow returns on any generator. You have a 50/50 chance of getting a generator that works. I can't afford them odds. I'm still able to charge my batteries, sometimes for 10 minutes sometimes I get an hr+. That's unacceptable. Will not run! This has been a piece of sh*t since day 1.

Good Little Workhorse 👍
Was SUPER sceptical about Genmax , reviews were allover the place. I kept seeing units at the RV park and tt owners who all liked them, so I rolled the dice and ordered a 1200w. A couple mos later now I'm happy w the purchase , its been reliable and starts super easy. Its pretty quiet and handles load shift better than my old 2000w. It runs a 700w microwave etc in my RV no problem and gets decent gas milage. I dont see why ppl get gigantic gigawatt generators for an RV when about 1200w (10amps) is all you really need. My only fuss w the genmax is the fuel pre-strainer insert gets airlocked and fuel wont go into the tank when pouring , it makes a mess so I just took mine out. Theres an inline filter by the carb so as long as I'm not dumping chunks into the tank it should be fine. End of day , I dunno if all the bad 'reviews' were a temporary QC problem or sabotage bs from other sellers. I like that this thing weighs just 20 lbs and its sturdy & beefy enough to get the job done 👍 I'd buy a genmax product again anytime.

GM1200i. You only get one chance to make a first impression. I’m impressed!
This GM1200i is for my camping and keeping my RV maintained in the off season. This is very light weight at 25lbs. Exactly what I wanted. Set up was easy-peasy. Have 10w30 oil on hand as oil is not included. I really can’t find anything to complain about. Fit, finish and construction are well done. All outlets, resets and switches are covered so dust, dirt and moisture won’t get in. Comes with spark plug tool, screw driver, flexible screw in funnel, AND set of parallel cables! I really am a fan of “no tool access”. Side panel, oil and spark plug access covers come off without a screwdriver. Also, having a separate fuel shut off valve is a big plus. You can run the carburetor dry to shut down so no fuel remains sitting in the carb when not being used short term. Before adding the oil first time, I always empty out the small amount of oil left from factory run test. Added appropriate amount of oil, put in “non ethanol” gas, turned on the fuel valve and vent cap. Put the choke lever to choke. Two pulls of the starter cord and away it went. Plugged in my 900 watt heater and not a whimper. It ramped up to meet the load, and not even a flash of the overload light. It’s really quiet with eco switch on, and very quiet even under heavy load. There’s a really good YouTube video by Gavin’s Garage testing this GenMax GM1200i and other GenMax inverter generators you should watch. I know I could have bought a bigger unit for a little more money, but this is perfect for us. Light weight, sips gas, easy maintenance and the right price. I’m impressed!
