The Best
There are lots of IP cameras out there, but Axis makes the best. Quality always comes at a cost. Axis backs these products with really capable software and management tools. If you don’t want to go that route, this camera is instantly compatible with CamCloud.

Does not support full 5GHz non-DFS channels
This SHORT review is geared specifically around wireless (WLAN) channel capability. It is not a complete review of WLAN--such as throughput, association/re-association, or any other analysis. The issue: Per Axis documentation this camera only supports channels 36, 40, 44, and 48. At minimum this should support 36, 40, 44, 48, 149, 153, 157, and 161. My opinion is that it should support ALL of them (with the option to prune the rest). I have verified that the camera does indeed support these channels--and no others--and that it supports 40MHz channel-width: "Channel width (capability: 40MHz Current: 40MHz)." Although this is not documented. The reason: I am writing this is because there are times where having multiple access points (APs) in a building could require more than the currently supported 5GHz channels. Specifically a small retailer. The argument COULD be made that one would not want security cameras on wireless OR that you could design around this issue--however, those are quite subjective opinions--as is my opinion about the currently supported channels. :)

Excellent camera, top quality
Excellent camera. Easy setup. Very good picture quality, also in the dark. This is replacing a 10-year old Axis camera that has worked flawlessly for 24/7 in 10 years!

If reliability counts look elsewhere
With more than a decade of experience with Axis cameras this latest crop is not the best. Out of 4 M-1065-LW cameras 2 or 50% had to be sent back to the factory. Hardware issues with sound or voice and RJ45 socket damaged pins. I have another issue with Companion software in and out access noted as an incorrect password.

Check your item timely !
item came on time, w/o damage. Purchased for a project but had to put project on hold. Project reopened and when item- camera- was installed,.it didn't work AND the window of return had been closed .. missed out on it on 2 days !!...I am really upset ..expensive mistake for sure .........not a happy camper.

Good entry level IPCam
Pros: Setup is pretty straight forward. To enable viewing from other networks, IP forwarding needs to be setup in the router. Axis also provides a free dynamic DNS service, but you may use your preferred service as well. e.g. DynDNS.Decent picture quality for an entry level device.Built quality is good and is made in Czech Republic.Timely firmware updates patches security vulnerabilities. However, I encountered some problems after performing a firmware update. Had to reset settings to return normal. (Fortunately there is an option to reset the device without wipping the network settings.)Cons: The hardware specs are a bit low. Live video streaming started to fail if too many trigger rules were set up. It returned back to normal after I cut down some of my rules.

Good quality camera
Good quality camera, easy to set up once I started using the right browser. Definitely a step above less expensive consumer-grade cameras. The two things that aren't perfect are 1.) way more IR reflection that I expected when corner mounted. Was expecting better since the camera comes with a corner-specific mounting bracket 2.) PIR often misses motion on the periphery. Was hoping to not have to use the digital/video motion detection, but I had to turn on. Would definitely buy again for the right purpose.
