My built-in journey began with this book. It is an excellent resource filled with practical and experienced help both written and visually (through photos). I would definitely recommend this book for beginners (who can go back over it and gain insight as they learn new things) and for those who are experienced who will no doubt learn new tips and tricks of the trade. Some of this book is pretty advanced (I don’t and may never have the types of tools it mentions) but I appreciate the step-by-step explanations (with photos) and advice and it has made the daunting mental process of tackling this job for me, much more manageable. It has given me confidence I can do this, and I am sure I will continue to reference this book in the projects to come. GET THIS BOOK - YOU WON’T REGRET IT!

This was full of handy tips and tricks for beginner to seasoned woodworker. I bought it looking for a built-in bookcase but didn't find what I was looking for. Overall a good addition to my collection.

Well written, informative book. Has a lot of information that can and will assist a seasoned pro or a DIY'er.It's helped me hone some of my work to a finer degree and definitely helped me give a well made professional resultand will continue to do so for quite some time to come.

Have not used yet. But just what it said it was

I learned a few things from this book, but somehow the little details like squaring are left out and presumed the reader already knows this. Many beginners don't and end up with racked bookshelves and basically wasted time, money, and lumber. Still, Taunton books are good to read and they motivate you to build something.

Good comprehensive book All color pictures with explanations,step by step descriptions all the way to staining.Worth every penny

This is a good beginner book, with allot of good tips. If you are looking for a book on designs, this is not it.

Books are great, but not as many plans and ideas as I'd hoped for, very technique oriented instead. But solid book nevertheless.
