Great for Learning
I think that this is great for learning place values. However, since there’s only 200 straws and the hundreds place will only hold 100 straws, you can’t really do any numbers other than 1 for the hundreds place. I plan to still use this and come up with a different method than the straws. The chart is really nice and sturdy. I love that it has a storage pocket. I also like that the font they used is a basic font that every child can recognize the letters.

Works well but maybe not for long
Great for my 2nd graders, but the straws and the paper are pretty flimsy. For the cost, though, I can make it work for a few years if we’re gentle with the pieces.

PLace value visual
I do like this in math for discussing the place value. However when it comes to the hundreds I wish there was some visual to represent the 100s better so that the students can go above a 100. I will be adding to that so that they can increase the numbers above 199

Decent pocket chart
I like this pocket chart. It gets the job done. The materials could definitely be more sturdy, but there are ways around it. The pocket chart, itself, is a good quality and I like that it has a velcro pocket on the bottom to store all the materials in. The numbers/labels are on a sturdier paper, but I suggest taking the time to laminate these pieces if you want to use this repeatedly, year after year. The straws are rather flimsy. You're not doing anything other than putting them in the pockets, but little kids have a way of being rough with even the simplest things, so I'm hoping these hold up. That said, if they don't, you can always substitute in more straws. The rubber bands come in their own little bag, which does keep them together nicely. All things considered, this is not a bad pocket chart. I'm sure you can get better ones, if you want to spend more, but this does what it needs to.

Great Teaching Tool
This place value chart is a great teaching tool. Children can actively participate in counting ones, bundling them into tens, and learning about place value and grouping. It is a great supplement to use at home or in a classroom!
