I bought this because we were butchering one of our large sows. I usually vacuum seal our sausage, but I knew that would be way too slow for this much. We were able to stuff the sausage bags straight from the grinder during the second grind saving time. I was a little concerned because I had a friend tell me that they use hog rings because tape didn't work well for them. They didn't own this specific brand though. Anyways after the first bag or two I was off to the races. We packaged 250 pounds of fresh sausage this way last weekend. We averaged one minute per pound or bag, literally. That's second grind, bagged, and sealed. The tape system worked great and is well made.

Fit form function as advertised, wish I had this years ago for the time saving convenience and ease of use for packing ground meat.

Works great once you get the hang of it. Just wrap the bags tighter than you think you need and hold it close when taping.

I bought this for packaging meat (my in-laws live on a farm and they butcher every spring to make ground sausage, sausage links, and summer sausage). My husband needed a new packaging system and this one works for everything except the summer sausage that gets put in the smoking barn - That sausage actually requires the metal staple packaging because the heat would melt it otherwise (which I didn’t think about at the time of purchase). Anyway, this seemed like a pretty good, easy to use, and reliable system but I did end up returning it because we do a lot of smoked meat and so it wasn’t the right purchase for us. As long as you’re not smoking the meat you’re packaging, this looks like a good buy.

This has been great for finishing off bulk sausage bags. I store my homemade breakfast sausage and chorizo in bulk bags. This has been reliable for sealing up my bulk bags at the end. The tape is easy to put into the device and lasts a good while. Personally, I run my bag through twice, just to make sure it's really on there.
