OXO Good Grips Glass Salad Spinner

We bought the larger version of this salad spinner, and whilst it worked well for large amounts when preparing food for a lot of people, it was just too big for two people and took up a lot of storage space. So we bought this one - it works just as well as it's larger sibling, but it's a lot better to store. We initially chose OXO as they make some good quality items and these salad spinners are up there at the top. They're very well designed, with a sturdy basket and a useful bowl. Being able to lock the push mechanism in the down position makes it easier to store, and it comes apart easily to clean. The push down to spin is a great idea, especially if you have trouble with gripping a handle on a normal salad spinner. All in all, this is a great salad spinner. It's not an inexpensive item, but definitely worth the money.

I was dubious about this because our old salad spinner sucked! The spinning mechanism was constantly coming away mid spin and was difficult to put back on. What I doubted about this one is, if its so sturdy then surely it cant come apart to be cleaned?? It can. So far I've made my hubby do the dishes and he says it describes how to take it to bits in the instructions. I've made a salad with this and its great. I used to try drying the washed leaves with a tea towel and its been awful. I do sometimes put things in twice after emptying but I'm quite happy with that compared to using a tea towel! This salad spinner is great! My hubby used it without knowing about the button to stop it and even without the button its really good! Its really thick and sturdy - we thought from the pictures that it was glass but its actually just a really solid plastic bowl. We tried whole branches of kale in it and that was pretty limited - could only get a few in at a time. But then we bought the smaller one so what can we expect? I tried to put a broccoli in it and it absolutely wouldn't fit. It would have been ok if I put smaller bits in but wouldn't fit a whole one. Now, pretty much anything that will fit will be going into it!! I love it! Couldn't recommend it more.

Very good product. Heavy as large but very useful as you can store washed & strained items in here in the fridge. The only downside is the thin plastic disc on the bottom as if not careful you’ll lose altogether or at least in your cupboard! Would recommend but put a colour on the thin plastic part so it’s more visible please by the way I highly prefer the glass items well over z& sbove plastic items in general

It's fabulous. Quite heavy but robust. Should be for the price mind. Dries salad v well and is very easy to use. Don't drop it mind, it's glass. If you are prone to dropping get the metal or plastic one.

It is a big item, but that means plenty of space inside for wet leaves to spread out. Lovely spinning action, much like a spinning top from when I was a child. The bowl doubles up a a serving bowl for the salad. The spinning lever locks down for storage and it is all very easy to clean. Love it.

Over the years I have used a variety of spinners. This one stands out for its sturdiness and the way it spins. which is by pushing the mechanism vertically versus turning a handle. The benefit of this is stability during spinning and the top not coming off in your hand. Even the basket insert is super quality. It looks great, makes little noise and spins fantastically. The only thing to watch out of tis the main spinning bowl is made of a hard plastic which could struggle to withstand harder knocks but this is not a problem that has affected me. Overall it is by far the best spinner I have bought by a long way. It's a bit pricier than others, but for that expected a superior product.

The overall plastic quality and design of this salad spinner are excellent. It feels sturdy, looks stylish and is clearly well made. Unfortunately the main function we needed, separating excess water from freshly washed greens, did not work as well as we hoped. Our current spinner removes water much more efficiently, so this one fell short for us. We are returning it with regret because the product itself feels premium, but it simply did not deliver the drying performance we expected.

Ero dubbioso se comprare questa centrifuga per insalata visto il suo prezzo molto alto, ma devo dire che si tratta di un prodotto veramente di qualità, nettamente superiore alla media delle centrifughe in commercio. Materiali robusti (la plastica del contenitore sembra quasi vetro), funzionalità impeccabile, grandissima facilità di utilizzo. Da la sensazione che durerà a lungo nel tempo.

The glass bowl feels high-quality, and the spinner works reasonably well. However, I usually need 2–3 spin cycles to get the salad fully dry. With cheaper plastic spinners, I’ve had the same issue, but it was easy to quickly dump out the water between cycles. With this one, the heavier glass bowl and the detached spinning mechanism make emptying the excess water a bit inconvenient. Overall, it does the job, and I prefer the glass over plastic to reduce microplastic exposure, but the design could be more user-friendly.

Delighted with the lovely sturdy bowl and the 2.7 litre size. This salad spinner does not wobble or jump around when spinning but sits firmly on the bench, freeing the cook to do other kitchen tasks briefly while it spins around. It does a brilliant job of removing water from the salad leaves (even though I not only wash the salad leaves but also soak them in a vinegar- water solution before rinsing them), leaving them crisp. It is easy to store as the top can be made flat - just press and hold the pump down while moving the black strip toward the pump and press the button to stop it spinning. To use it slide the black strip away from the pump which pops up, ready for spinning.

Honnêtement, c’est l’une des meilleures essoreuses que j’ai utilisées. Le plastique est solide, le mécanisme de pression est fluide et super efficace. En quelques secondes, la salade est parfaitement essorée, sans effort. Le bouton stop pour freiner la rotation est bien pensé, et le fond antidérapant évite que ça bouge sur le plan de travail. Elle est grande mais pas trop encombrante, et facile à nettoyer. Clairement un produit bien conçu, robuste, et qui mérite son prix. Je recommande sans hésiter !
