98202 EAS Backup Camera - License Plate Mount

Good solid addition for your Edge Color Screen product. I connected it to a CTS2 (Model 85400).PROS:1. Good color and resolution in both day and night.2. The frame is very solid (made of metal, not plastic)3. Came with ample cabling for connecting in a long vehicle (had several feet left over in a 2008 Ram Mega Cab)CONS:1. The picture is not instantaneous on the CTS2...especially on initial start-up. The CTS2 has to fully boot for the camera to display.2. The camera lens doesn't do well in the rain. If the lens is wet, its pretty much useless.3. The fasteners supplied with the Mount are absolute crap. See the picture. After 1 week, the rust was forming fast. For about $7, you can replace the four fasteners with quality stainless steel. This alone is the reason for 4 stars. At the price these run, there is no good reason that Edge can't provide better quality fasteners up front.

I bought this product to pair with my Edge CTS programmer. Although I read some reviews complaining about the high price I figured the quality would make up for this. I was wrong. The Edge Products website and even the box state this camera has parking guide lines. It does not. I called Edge customer service to inquire about this and was told very matter-of-factly "the new ones don't have parking guide lines". When I asked why the box and website stated they did, he replied "probably to save costs on the manual". Not a very good way to try and retain a customer that paid full price for a backup camera. He didn't seem to care that it did not meet the specifications the Edge website lists, especially considering the premium price.Pros: The frame and camera seem well made. The view is indeed 170 degrees and very clear. Colors are reproduced accurately. Definitely a good backup camera as far as clarity. The cable has power, video and ground integrated so it is very easy to pull through the car/frame and mount. One connector is coupled at the camera mount, the power is coupled to a fuse adapter (included), you connect the ground and attach the video cable to your monitor.Cons: As others have mentioned, no parking guide lines on the newer cameras. The mounting hardware begins to rust after a week. As you can buy a comparable camera for less than half the price elsewhere with more features, this product falls very short. Although the one piece cable is a pro, a con is the camera is constantly receiving power when the ignition switch is on (if you follow the included directions). Not sure how long the camera will last being constantly on. This does allow you to view the camera anytime you choose (not just when in reverse) if your monitor supports this function. Would be handy for a forward mounted camera I guess.

What a worthless piece of crap! About one out of every six or seven times you put it in reverse it activates the camera for you to see where you’re backing up. Not only that but it freezes with a picture from somebody else’s truck and hitch that may be had this previously?!?

Semi Fair price and ok quality

Found that the plug that was shown on the ad was not in the package, and that after I returned that kit and had to order the kit that had that part, the license plate camera still didn’t work. now I have to contact them and get more parts. Is there an Inconvenience charge i can apply. So disappointed. Took three days for the company to reply to the first request. Holley is a huge conglomerate now controlling the automotive market and the products a JUNK> FYI. I had same problems with DINAN,, same company. However they were faster in solving my problem. This is what we have to deal with folks. enjoy.
