GREAT value, sized correctly, plyable, almost 100 minis, GET BOTH SETS
Game Masters, MYTHICAL HEROES FOREST/SWAMP EDITION is one of the 2 MYTHICAL HEROES sets worth every penny. Between these 2 sets you'd have about 180 minis that are detailed enough for table top use and if you wanted to paint/customize them farther, are detailed enough to be worth it. They come in 3 different colors of a super durable plastic, this stuff is plyable and durable enough, they will not break even with regular use. At less than 40 cents a mini, including the big ones, you can't go wrong. The creature varity for this forest/swamp set are great and several are adaptable to other things (the wisps can be more than wil-o-wisps...fire, air, etc.)They are fast to paint; half of the set was primed with a rattle can of matte black 2X paint/primer, dry brushed with dark gray then white (2 hours of work and 45 units were tabletop ready). Adding color ranged between 3 and 30 minutes depending on how many colors or gradients I wanted for that unit (average was 10 minutes, assembly line style)If you are a Dungeon Master, the value of these sets together is excellent, giving you so many creature/NPC options for multiple environments.

Great for new DMs
These minis are very sturdy and detailed. There is a whopping 90 miniatures included. They are a good size too. (Each square is 1² inch). This is an extremely good deal for the price. The rest of the miniatures are in the background of the picture. Amazing high quality miniatures!

Good quality, take paint well
First off, these are good quality and take paint well. I’m using a mix of Reaper paints from Core and MSP series, as well as some WizKids paints. My only con with these are the wolves. If you’re looking for detailed wolves, don’t get this set, as they aren’t highly detailed enough to get a good fur texture effect with your paint.HOWEVER the wolves are still good quality and definitely good enough for my purposes.I bought this set for the Blights, Fey, and Undead, and they are EXCELLENT. The detail is good and they are fairly hardy. They are a more stiff plastic as opposed to the more traditional “bendy” plastic you may expect from D&D minis, but it doesn’t affect the paintability. They may be more brittle, so if you’re playing with kids, that may be a concern.

Its plastic
Seems a little brittle but still nice miniatures. Nice variety.

Much better than expected, well worth the cost!
These are not the best detailed miniatures you can find, but they are quite adequate for gaming use. They are big (30-35mm scale, I would say) but look fine next to most modern miniatures. There are types of models in this package that are not often found in such sets, and as they are all "minion/monster" type creatures, the duplicates are not an issue. All the models are one-piece, though it looks like a few could easily become detached from their bases should they be handled roughly during delivery. I imagine they'd be easy enough to fix, if that happens, for those with even a little experience in the miniatures hobby. The details are generally a bit shallow and small, but again these are minions and monsters.....they don't need more than a basic paint-job to suit their purpose. They're not intended to be display models that require hours to painstakingly paint under the lens of a magnifying glass.Very happy with this purchase. Will be using them with various dungeon-crawl board or miniatures games.

More detail to the figures than it looks!
I bought this as a cheap set of miniatures to practice some new painting techniques on before doing them on my more expensive gaming figures. With multiples of each figure they allow you to try out different color schemes and techniques and compare the results side by side.I was surprised that when I applied a layer of primer I started to see more detail come out, textures that are not visible in these product photos. The owlbears are hairy and feathered not smooth. The lizardmen have good scaling and other details. In short, these are better and more usable miniatures than I expected. I'm not sure what I will do with the multiples of some of the figures, but I'm loving that I have a number of giant spiders, owlbears, lizardmen, etc for my group encounters and the quality is good enough to use in my games, not just painting practice!

Ettercaps for the win!
Used a giant spider and an ettercap for the Salvage Operation adventure. The ettercap’s butt on the figure was so realistic that it was the butt of many jokes at the game table. The mix of figures is great for Ghosts of Saltmarsh. The multiple colors are good for tracking which monster has how many hit points. The price is great too. I wish I got these sooner.

Excellent starter set - pair with Mini Heros set
This is an excellent set to complement the other Mythical Heros mini figurine collection. The two collections together provide novice to intermediate D&D players a great collection to get started on your role playing adventures. I grabbed these two, along with a good set of mats and condition rings and now have my kids using these over their devices. Haven't tried to paint any yet, but there is enough detail you will enjoy these regardless and let your imagination take hold. Looking forward to Mythical Hero's coming out with more collections, suggestion to create a "townsfolk" set, those are hard to come by and I'm not seeing any good options thus far.
