Can I connect a directional antenna to it for extended range?

No. Antennae are permanently attached, with no options to attach more.

Any thoughts if this would be good for a 2400 sq ft home? I'm questioning the coverage.

My home is 2000 sq ft, the router is approx in the center of the home and it works well throughout the house. Coverage depends on location (most important), number of walls between the router and where being used and the type of construction (brick, wood, sheet rock etc.). The more walls the weaker the signal.

I do not want a password for someone to use my wifi. can the wifi security settings be set to "none" or open wifi with this router?
